أقامت المملكة ممثلةً في الهيئة العامة للنقل معرضًا دوليًا في العاصمة البريطانية لندن لاستعراض أبرز مبادراتها ومنجزاتها في دعم صناعة النقل البحري، وذلك بحضور رسمي رفيع المستوى ومشاركة واسعة من مجموعة الدول الأعضاء في المنظمة البحرية الدولية IMO.
وانطلق المعرض بحضور سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى المملكة المتحدة الأمير خالد بن بندر بن سلطان بن عبد العزيز، ووزير النقل والخدمات اللوجستية رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة العامة للنقل المهندس صالح بن ناصر الجاسر، إضافةً إلى الجهات الحكومية المعنية بالقطاع إلى جانب ممثلين من السفارات والملحقيات البحرية.
ويأتي تنظيم هذا المعرض تأكيدًا لمكانة المملكة بصفتها شريكًا فاعلًا في المنظومة البحرية الدولية ومساهمًا رئيسًا في تطوير التشريعات والممارسات البحرية العالمية، واستكمالًا لدورها المؤثر في المنظمة البحرية الدولية، وجهودها في تمكين الاستدامة ورفع كفاءة سلاسل الإمداد عبر البحار.
ويمثّل المعرض منصةً لاستعراض الأكاديميات والمراكز المتخصصة التي دشنتها المملكة، ومبادراتها في توطين الكفاءات وتأهيل البحارة والضباط والمهندسين البحريين، ويسلّط الضوء أيضًا على المشاريع الذكية التي تدعم أتمتة القطاع وتسهم في رفع كفاءته التشغيلية واستدامته البيئية.
وشهد القطاع البحري السعودي خلال السنوات الماضية نموًا متسارعًا تمثّل في ارتفاع أعداد السفن السعودية إلى (409) سفن بحمولة إجمالية تتجاوز الـ(100) طن، و(16,583,171) طنًا للحمولة الساكنة لأسطول المملكة البحري DWT، إلى جانب زيادة أعداد البحارة السعوديين المسجلين إلى (3000) بحار، بفضل البرامج النوعية والمبادرات التنظيمية التي أطلقتها المملكة لدعم كوادرها وكفاءاتها البحرية.
وتأتي هذه الجهود امتدادًا لدور المملكة الفاعل في المنظمة البحرية IMO نحو المساهمة في تطوير صناعة النقل البحري بمنظور شامل لا يقتصر على تنمية الأساطيل أو تحديث الأنظمة، بل يشمل بناء منظومة بحرية عالمية متقدمة ترتكز على الكفاءة التشغيلية، واستثمار العقول البشرية وتوظيف أحدث التقنيات بما يضمن الوصول إلى مستقبل بحري واعد ومستدام.
ويأتي هذا الحضور الرفيع المستوى تأكيدًا لحضور المملكة الفاعل في المحافل الدولية، حيث أوضح سمو سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى المملكة المتحدة أن هذا المعرض يجسد التزام المملكة بالعمل الدولي المشترك، ويعكس روح الضيافة السعودية وحرصها على بناء علاقات بحرية قائمة على التعاون والشراكة المستدامة.
كما أكد معالي وزير النقل والخدمات اللوجستية المهندس صالح بن ناصر الجاسر أن المملكة تسير بخطى واثقة نحو الريادة في النقل البحري، بفضل رؤية 2030 والاستثمار في الكفاءات والتقنيات لتعزيز موقعها كمركز لوجستي عالمي.
The Kingdom, represented by the General Authority for Transport, held an international exhibition in the British capital, London, to showcase its most prominent initiatives and achievements in supporting the maritime transport industry, with the attendance of high-level official representatives and wide participation from a group of member states in the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United Kingdom, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, and the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Transport, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, in addition to relevant government entities and representatives from embassies and maritime attachés.
This exhibition is organized as a confirmation of the Kingdom's position as an active partner in the international maritime system and a key contributor to the development of global maritime legislation and practices, continuing its influential role in the International Maritime Organization and its efforts to enable sustainability and enhance the efficiency of supply chains across the seas.
The exhibition represents a platform to showcase the academies and specialized centers established by the Kingdom, its initiatives in localizing competencies, and training sailors, officers, and marine engineers. It also highlights smart projects that support the automation of the sector and contribute to enhancing its operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The Saudi maritime sector has witnessed rapid growth in recent years, reflected in the increase in the number of Saudi ships to (409) vessels with a total tonnage exceeding (100) tons, and (16,583,171) tons for the deadweight tonnage (DWT) of the Kingdom's maritime fleet, alongside an increase in the number of registered Saudi sailors to (3000) sailors, thanks to the quality programs and regulatory initiatives launched by the Kingdom to support its maritime workforce and competencies.
These efforts extend the Kingdom's active role in the IMO towards contributing to the development of the maritime transport industry from a comprehensive perspective that does not only focus on fleet development or system modernization but also includes building an advanced global maritime system based on operational efficiency, investing in human intellect, and employing the latest technologies to ensure a promising and sustainable maritime future.
This high-level presence confirms the Kingdom's active participation in international forums, as His Highness the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United Kingdom clarified that this exhibition embodies the Kingdom's commitment to international cooperation and reflects the spirit of Saudi hospitality and its keenness to build maritime relations based on cooperation and sustainable partnership.
Moreover, His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, affirmed that the Kingdom is confidently moving towards leadership in maritime transport, thanks to Vision 2030 and investment in competencies and technologies to enhance its position as a global logistics hub.
