EVIQ, Hala Auto, and DSV are collaborating to support the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by building an integrated commercial ecosystem that combines electric vehicle solutions, dedicated charging infrastructure, and fleet operations.
This partnership brings together the integrated capabilities of the three parties to meet the key requirements for transitioning to electric fleets in the logistics sector. Hala Auto will provide electric transport vehicles and trucks that meet DSV's operational requirements, while EVIQ will develop dedicated charging infrastructure for DSV's electric fleet, along with providing access to its charging station network. For its part, DSV will begin converting part of its fleet to electric vehicles in Riyadh.
Through this collaboration, EVIQ will support DSV with charging solutions tailored to the operational needs of its fleet, including the development of dedicated charging infrastructure at vehicle deposit locations, exclusively for DSV's electric fleet. DSV's fleet will also have access to EVIQ's charging network, providing additional charging options outside the dedicated infrastructure at deposit locations.
Hala Auto will play the role of electric fleet solutions provider by supplying transport vehicles and electric trucks according to DSV's operational requirements and supporting the deployment of suitable vehicles for logistics operations.
For DSV, transitioning to an electric fleet is expected to contribute to reducing the total cost of ownership by decreasing reliance on fuel and lowering vehicle maintenance expenses. This transition will also help reduce emissions from the fleet and support the company's sustainability goals, aligning with the broader environmental trends in the Kingdom.
This collaboration reflects the importance of adopting an integrated approach to transitioning to electric fleets, where the provision of vehicles, charging infrastructure, and fleet operations are developed cohesively, allowing logistics companies a practical and commercially viable pathway to electric mobility.
By combining EVIQ's expertise in electric vehicle charging infrastructure and its network, Hala Auto's electric vehicle solutions, and DSV's operations in the logistics sector, the partnership aims to provide a model demonstrating how collaboration between the private sector can accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics sector in the Kingdom.
Mohammed Qazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, stated:
“Transitioning to electric fleets requires more than just suitable charging infrastructure; it necessitates solutions designed around how companies operate and their needs. Through our collaboration with Hala Auto and DSV, we are combining dedicated charging infrastructure, fleet solutions, and expertise in the logistics sector to provide a practical pathway for transitioning to electric fleets. We view this collaboration as an important step in supporting the growth of electric vehicle-based logistics services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
Meanwhile, the CEO of Hala Auto said:
“At Hala Auto, we believe that the transition to sustainable mobility must be practical, scalable, and aligned with the actual needs of companies operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
Our partnership with EVIQ and DSV brings together the essential elements needed to accelerate the transition to electric vehicle fleets, including suitable electric vehicles, reliable charging infrastructure, and integrated logistics expertise.
This collaboration reflects Hala Auto's commitment to supporting our clients in their transition to operating more efficient and lower-emission fleets, while contributing to the broader sustainability goals of the Kingdom and Saudi Vision 2030.
We are proud to be part of this journey and look forward to developing solutions that make electric commercial mobility a practical and scalable option in the Kingdom.
Walid Al-Naimah, Regional Director and Road Sector Manager at DSV in Saudi Arabia, said:
