The Public Investment Fund announced today the launch of "Tawreed for Financing Solutions," an innovative digital platform specialized in providing supply chain financing products for companies in the Saudi market.
"Tawreed" has obtained a permit from the Saudi Central Bank "SAMA" to begin testing its operations under the regulatory sandbox environment. Financial services are a strategic enabler for the six economic systems announced by the Public Investment Fund as part of its strategic objectives for the period 2026 - 2030.
Supply chain financing products help companies meet the necessary financing needs for their activities, and the services of the "Tawreed" digital platform will contribute to enhancing the role of the local private sector, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.
"Tawreed" will work on building links between buyers, suppliers, and financing entities through its digital platform, and will provide diverse financing products, including early payment of receivables issued under approved invoices, to help companies expand their operations and improve working capital efficiency and liquidity management. The launch of the company aligns with the Public Investment Fund's strategy to enhance the participation of the Saudi private sector in the Fund's projects and portfolio companies, and to increase its contribution to the local economy. Its digital platform will enable registered local banks to access registered suppliers, thereby enhancing supply chains and supporting the diversification of financial services in the Kingdom and the digitization of trade.
Investing in supply chain financing is a natural evolution of the Fund's efforts to continue developing and strengthening the robust supply chains present in the Saudi market. The Fund has also worked to increase opportunities for local suppliers to develop their capabilities, in line with the Fund's strategic objectives to enhance private sector participation and empower it to contribute to diversifying the economy and strengthening local supply chains based on modern technologies.
Sultan Al Sheikh, Director of the Financial Institutions Sector at the Public Investment Fund's General Investments in the Middle East and North Africa, stated: "Tawreed will contribute to enhancing local supply chains and increasing their resilience by improving companies' access to financing and enhancing their cash flow management. The company will provide supply chain financing solutions, enabling companies to operate with greater efficiency and flexibility, and creating more opportunities for the local private sector."
The Public Investment Fund is one of the most influential investment entities in the world, working to empower new sectors and opportunities that contribute to shaping the future of the global economy, achieving returns, and driving economic transformation in the Kingdom.
