It was announced today at the "Money 20/20 Middle East" conference in Riyadh that the mutual acceptance of Saudi "Mada" cards and Qatari "Hamyat" cards has begun, allowing holders of both cards to make payments in both the Kingdom and Qatar easily and reliably.
Under this step, holders of "Mada" cards will be able to use them in Qatar, while holders of "Hamyat" cards will be able to make their payments within Saudi Arabia.
The announcement comes as part of efforts to enhance integration between national payment systems in the region and to expand their use beyond local markets, contributing to facilitating mobility and improving the payment experience between the two countries.
"Hamyat" is the first national payment card in Qatar, owned by the Qatar Central Bank, while "Mada" represents the national payment network in Saudi Arabia.
