وسعت أسعار النفط مكاسبها في جلسة اليوم إلى 4% لتسجل أعلى مستوياتها في نحو 6 أسابيع مع تصريحات وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو بأن إيران ليست جدية بشأن محادثات السلام، ما يدفع لتزايد المخاوف من زيادة اضطرابات الإمدادات بعد أن أعلنت القوات الأمريكية أنها بدأت شن غارات على أهداف عسكرية إيرانية لليلة الحادية عشرة على التوالي، بينما أبلغت الكويت عن تعرضها لهجمات بطائرات مسيرة إيرانية.
أعلى مستوى
وارتفعت العقود الآجلة لخام برنت 3.01% أو 2.7 دولار، إلى 93.73 دولار، في حين ارتفع خام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأمريكي 3.01% أو 2.56 دولا، إلى 86.9 دولار.
ويأتي ذلك بعد أن بلغ سعر النفط أعلى مستوى له في خمسة أسابيع عند التسوية أمس، بعدما ضربت القوات الأمريكية أهدافاً في جنوب إيران وغربها، في حين شنت طهران هجمات على منشآت أمريكية في البحرين والكويت والأردن.
وذكرت مصادر في السوق نقلاً عن بيانات صادرة عن معهد البترول الأمريكي أن مخزونات النفط الخام ونواتج التقطير في الولايات المتحدة ارتفعت الأسبوع الماضي، في حين انخفضت مخزونات البنزين.
وتأتي بيانات المخزونات هذه قبيل صدور الأرقام الرسمية من إدارة معلومات الطاقة الأمريكية اليوم.
Oil prices extended their gains today by 4%, reaching their highest levels in nearly 6 weeks following U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statements that Iran is not serious about peace talks, which raises concerns about increasing supply disruptions after U.S. forces announced they had begun airstrikes on Iranian military targets for the eleventh consecutive night, while Kuwait reported being targeted by Iranian drone attacks.
Highest Level
Brent crude futures rose by 3.01% or $2.7, to $93.73, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude increased by 3.01% or $2.56, to $86.9.
This comes after oil prices reached their highest level in five weeks at yesterday's close, following U.S. forces striking targets in southern and western Iran, while Tehran launched attacks on American facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
Market sources reported, citing data from the American Petroleum Institute, that crude oil and distillate inventories in the United States rose last week, while gasoline inventories declined.
This inventory data comes ahead of the official figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration being released today.
