نظم مجلس الأعمال السعودي - الأمريكي، في مدينة نيويورك، فعالية بعنوان «ما بعد المستطيل الأخضر: رسم مستقبل الرياضة في الساحة العالمية الجديدة»، لبحث فرنظّمجص الشراكة الاقتصادية والاستثمارية التي تتيحها استضافة بطولتي كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2026 و2034، ضمن مبادرة «جودة الحياة» التابعة للمجلس؛ التي تهدف إلى تعزيز التعاون بين البلدين في قطاعات الرياضة والسياحة والترفيه والضيافة، ودعم مستهدفات التحول الاقتصادي في المملكة.
تعاون اقتصادي
وشهدت الفعالية حضور وزير الدولة عضو مجلس الشؤون الاقتصادية والتنمية عضو مجلس إدارة الهيئة العليا لاستضافة كأس العالم 2034 محمد آل الشيخ، والمدير التنفيذي لفريق عمل البيت الأبيض المعني بكأس العالم 2026 أندرو جولياني، إضافة إلى مسؤولين حكوميين وقادة أعمال ومستثمرين من المملكة والولايات المتحدة.
وناقش المشاركون تجربة الولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا في استضافة كأس العالم 2026، وفرص توسيع التعاون الاقتصادي بين البلدين، إلى جانب دور الأحداث الرياضية الكبرى في تحفيز الاستثمارات في قطاعات البنية التحتية والسياحة والتقنية والضيافة والترفيه، بما يعزز نمو الاقتصاد الرياضي العالمي.
تجارب استثنائية
وأكد آل الشيخ أن الاستعدادات لاستضافة المملكة لكأس العالم 2034 تمثل فرصة مفتوحة للأفكار والاستثمارات والشراكات الدولية، مشيرًا إلى أهمية توظيف الرياضة بوصفها منصة تجمع الأعمال والثقافة والترفيه، وتسهم في تقديم تجارب جماهيرية استثنائية.
من جانبه أوضح جولياني أن الولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا نجحوا في تنظيم كأس العالم 2026، وحققوا فوائد اقتصادية مستدامة، معربًا عن اعتزازه بالتعاون مع المملكة خلال استعداداتها لاستضافة كأس العالم 2034.

من جانبه، أكد الرئيس التنفيذي لمجلس الأعمال السعودي - الأمريكي تشارلز حلاب، أن الرياضة أصبحت أحد أبرز مجالات التعاون بين البلدين، مشيرًا إلى أن استضافة الولايات المتحدة كأس العالم 2026، واستعداد المملكة لاستضافة نسخة 2034، يفتحان آفاقًا واسعة لتعزيز الشراكات، وتحفيز الاستثمارات، وتحقيق قيمة اقتصادية مستدامة.
وأكد مواصلة جهود المجلس في جمع القيادات الحكومية وقطاع الأعمال، وتعزيز الشراكة الاقتصادية بين الولايات المتحدة والمملكة العربية السعودية، واستكشاف فرص جديدة للتعاون في مختلف القطاعات المرتبطة بالرياضة.
The Saudi-American Business Council organized an event in New York City titled "Beyond the Green Rectangle: Shaping the Future of Sports in the New Global Arena," to discuss the economic and investment partnership opportunities presented by hosting the 2026 and 2034 FIFA World Cup tournaments, as part of the Council's "Quality of Life" initiative; which aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of sports, tourism, entertainment, and hospitality, and support the economic transformation goals in the Kingdom.
Economic Cooperation
The event was attended by Minister of State and member of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, and member of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Committee for Hosting the 2034 World Cup, Mohammed Al-Sheikh, the Executive Director of the White House team responsible for the 2026 World Cup, Andrew Giuliani, in addition to government officials, business leaders, and investors from the Kingdom and the United States.
Participants discussed the experience of the United States, Mexico, and Canada in hosting the 2026 World Cup, and the opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the role of major sporting events in stimulating investments in infrastructure, tourism, technology, hospitality, and entertainment sectors, which enhances the growth of the global sports economy.

Al-Sheikh emphasized that the preparations for the Kingdom to host the 2034 World Cup represent an open opportunity for ideas, investments, and international partnerships, pointing to the importance of leveraging sports as a platform that brings together business, culture, and entertainment, contributing to providing exceptional fan experiences.
For his part, Giuliani explained that the United States, Mexico, and Canada successfully organized the 2026 World Cup and achieved sustainable economic benefits, expressing pride in collaborating with the Kingdom during its preparations to host the 2034 World Cup.
Broad Horizons
On his part, the CEO of the Saudi-American Business Council, Charles Halab, confirmed that sports have become one of the most prominent areas of cooperation between the two countries, noting that the United States hosting the 2026 World Cup and the Kingdom's readiness to host the 2034 edition open broad horizons for enhancing partnerships, stimulating investments, and achieving sustainable economic value.
He affirmed the Council's continued efforts to bring together government leaders and the business sector, enhance economic partnership between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and explore new opportunities for cooperation in various sectors related to sports.
