صعد أسعار النفط الخام بأكثر من 7% اليوم، بعد أن هدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بشن ضربات جديدة على إيران، وهو ما قال تلفزيون «برس تي.في» الإيراني إنه سيؤدي إلى إغلاق مضيق هرمز.
وزادت العقود الآجلة لخام برنت 5.93 دولار أو 8% إلى 80.09 دولار للبرميل، وهو أعلى مستوى لها منذ 22 يونيو الماضي.
أعلى مستوى
وارتفع خام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأمريكي 5.25 دولار أو 7.5% إلى 75.69 دولار للبرميل، وهو أيضاً أعلى مستوى في أكثر من أسبوعين.
وكان كلا الخامين قد ارتفع بنحو 3% يوم الثلاثاء بعد أن ألغت الولايات المتحدة الترخيص العام الذي يُجيز بيع النفط الخام الإيراني، في أعقاب الهجمات الإيرانية على السفن التجارية.
تصاعد القتال
وقال ترمب اليوم: «مذكرة التفاهم الموقعة مع إيران انتهت»، وهدد بشن ضربات جديدة ضد أهداف إيرانية قد تبدأ اليوم.
وأدى تصاعد الأعمال القتالية إلى إحياء المخاوف بشأن حركة ناقلات النفط عبر مضيق هرمز، خصوصاً لأن بعض السفن تعرضت لضربات قرب المضيق في وقت سابق من هذا الأسبوع.
Crude oil prices rose by more than 7% today, after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to launch new strikes against Iran, which Iranian television "Press TV" reported would lead to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Brent crude futures increased by $5.93 or 8% to $80.09 per barrel, the highest level since June 22.
Highest Level
West Texas Intermediate crude rose by $5.25 or 7.5% to $75.69 per barrel, also the highest level in more than two weeks.
Both crude types had risen by about 3% on Tuesday after the United States revoked the general license that permits the sale of Iranian crude oil, following Iranian attacks on commercial ships.
Escalation of Fighting
Trump stated today: "The memorandum of understanding signed with Iran has ended," and threatened to launch new strikes against Iranian targets that could begin today.
The escalation of hostilities has revived concerns about the movement of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, especially since some ships were struck near the strait earlier this week.
