فيما أعلن رئيس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي الأمريكي جيروم باول، أن المؤتمر الصحفي الحالي هو الأخير له برئاسة الفيدرالي، أبقى مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي (البنك المركزي) الأمريكي اليوم، سعر الفائدة الرئيسي لليلة واحدة دون تغيير في نطاق يراوح بين 3.50% و3.75%، في آخر اجتماع رسمي للبنك تحت ولاية جيروم باول المنتهية ولايته في منتصف مايو 2026.
وأفاد الاحتياطي الفيدرالي بأن المؤشرات الأخيرة تشير إلى أن النشاط الاقتصادي يواصل التوسع بوتيرة قوية، في وقت ظلت مكاسب الوظائف منخفضة في المتوسط، بينما لم يشهد معدل البطالة تغيراً يُذكر.

وفي انقسام هو الأكبر منذ تسعينيات القرن، أشار الفيدرالي إلى أن التصويت لصالح السياسة جاء بنتيجة 8 مقابل 4، إذ عارض ستيفن ميران مفضلاً خفض الفائدة بمقدار ربع نقطة مئوية، بينما عارض كل من بيث هاماك ونيل كاشكاري ولوري لوغان إدراج توجه تيسيري في البيان.

The Federal Reserve reported that recent indicators suggest that economic activity continues to expand at a strong pace, while job gains have remained low on average, and the unemployment rate has not seen any significant changes.
Biggest Split
In the largest split since the 1990s, the Fed indicated that the vote in favor of the policy resulted in 8 to 4, as Stephen Miran opposed it, preferring a quarter-point rate cut, while both Beth Hammack and Neel Kashkari, along with Loretta Mester, opposed including a dovish stance in the statement.
