ارتفعت أسعار النفط اليوم، بعد انخفاضها في وقت سابق من الجلسة، وسط شكوك حول إمكانية توصل محادثات السلام بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران إلى اتفاق ينهي الحرب التي أدت إلى توقف إنتاج النفط من مناطق إنتاج رئيسية في الشرق الأوسط.
وسجلت العقود الآجلة لخام برنت مكاسب بنسبة 1.43% أو 1.36 دولار لتصل إلى 96.29 دولار للبرميل.
وارتفعت العقود الآجلة لخام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأمريكي 1.31% أو 1.20 دولار لتصل إلى 92.49 دولار للبرميل.
واستقرت أسعار كلا الخامين القياسيين دون تغيير يُذكر عند التسوية يوم الأربعاء، لكنهما تداولا ضمن نطاق واسع.
تشكك المستثمرين
وقال المحلل لدى إحدى مجموعات الأوراق المالية توشيتاكا تازاوا: «رغم آمال خفض التصعيد، فلا يزال عدد من المستثمرين متشككين، بالنظر إلى أن المحادثات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران انهارت مرارا حتى بعد أن بدا أنها تحرز تقدما».
وأضاف: «إلى أن يتم التوصل إلى اتفاق سلام وتعود حرية الملاحة عبر المضيق، من المتوقع أن تستمر أسعار خام غرب تكساس الوسيط في التحرك بين 80 و100 دولار».
Oil prices rose today, after a decline earlier in the session, amid doubts about the possibility of reaching a peace agreement between the United States and Iran that would end the war which has halted oil production from key production areas in the Middle East.
Brent crude futures recorded gains of 1.43% or $1.36, reaching $96.29 per barrel.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by 1.31% or $1.20, reaching $92.49 per barrel.
Both benchmark crude prices settled with little change on Wednesday, but traded within a wide range.
Investor Skepticism
Toshitaka Tazawa, an analyst at a securities group, said: "Despite hopes for de-escalation, many investors remain skeptical, considering that talks between the U.S. and Iran have repeatedly collapsed even after they seemed to make progress."
He added: "Until a peace agreement is reached and freedom of navigation through the strait is restored, West Texas Intermediate crude prices are expected to continue moving between $80 and $100."
