أعلن رئيس وزراء ماليزيا أنور إبراهيم، اليوم، أن الحكومة رفعت حجم الدعم المالي من نحو 700 مليون رينغيت إلى 3.2 مليار رينغيت في أقل من أسبوع، في أعقاب الارتفاع الكبير بأسعار النفط العالمية الناجم عن الصراع في غرب آسيا.
رفاهية المواطنين
وقال أنور إبراهيم: «إن حماية رفاهية المواطنين والتجار تبقى أولوية للحكومة في ظل حالة عدم اليقين»، مبينًا أن الدعم يتيح للماليزيين دفع أقل من أسعار السوق الكاملة.
وأوضح أن ارتفاع أسعار النفط مرتبط بتعطل مضيق هرمز، أحد الطرق الرئيسية لنقل النفط العالمي، مشيرًا إلى أن ماليزيا، رغم كونها دولة منتجة للنفط، تتأثر بالأزمة لأنها تستورد كميات أكبر من النفط مما تصدر.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced today that the government has increased the financial support from about 700 million ringgit to 3.2 billion ringgit in less than a week, following the significant rise in global oil prices due to the conflict in West Asia.
Citizens' Welfare
Anwar Ibrahim stated, "Protecting the welfare of citizens and traders remains a priority for the government amid the uncertainty," explaining that the support allows Malaysians to pay less than the full market prices.
He clarified that the rise in oil prices is linked to the disruption of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the main routes for global oil transportation, noting that Malaysia, despite being an oil-producing country, is affected by the crisis as it imports larger quantities of oil than it exports.
