أكد المستشار الاقتصادي للبيت الأبيض كيفن هاسيت إن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب تتوقع أن تصدر المحكمة العليا حكماً لصالحها في الدعوى القضائية التي تنظر في مدى شرعية الرسوم الجمركية العالمية الشاملة التي فرضها الرئيس، لكنها لا تزال تدرس القرارات التي يمكن اتخاذها إذا حكمت المحكمة ضدها.
وأضاف هاسيت في مقابلة مع قناة «CNBC» بثت أمس (الجمعة): نتوقع الفوز، وإن لم يتحقق ذلك، فنحن نعلم أن لدينا أدوات أخرى يمكننا استخدامها للوصول إلى النتيجة نفسها.
وأوضح أن الإدارة الأمريكية عقدت اجتماعاً عبر الهاتف مساء أمس الأول (الخميس) مع جميع المسؤولين لمناقشة الخطوات التالية المحتملة.
The White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett confirmed that the administration of President Donald Trump expects the Supreme Court to rule in its favor in the lawsuit examining the legality of the comprehensive global tariffs imposed by the president, but it is still considering the decisions that could be made if the court rules against it.
Hassett added in an interview with CNBC that aired yesterday (Friday): We expect to win, and if that does not happen, we know that we have other tools we can use to achieve the same outcome.
He explained that the U.S. administration held a conference call on the evening of the day before yesterday (Thursday) with all officials to discuss potential next steps.
