وقع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، الذي يزور طوكيو حاليا، مع ساناي تاكايشي رئيسة الوزراء اليابانية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، اتفاقية لتأمين إمدادات المعادن النادرة.
وأشار بيان للبيت الأبيض إلى أن ترمب وتاكايتشي وقعا خلال اجتماعهما اتفاقية مشتركة تهدف إلى تأمين إمدادات المعادن الأرضية النادرة والمعادن الحيوية.
وبينت وكالة «كيودو» للأنباء، أن تاكايشي وترمب اتفقا على مواصة العمل على تطوير العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات.
وتعهدت تاكايتشي، التي أصبحت أول رئيسة وزراء لليابان الأسبوع الماضي، ببناء «عصر ذهبي جديد» للتحالف الياباني الأمريكي، مشيدة في الوقت نفسه بدور ترمب في تعزيز السلام في الشرق الأوسط.
U.S. President Donald Trump, who is currently visiting Tokyo, signed an agreement today (Tuesday) with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaiichi to secure supplies of rare minerals.
A statement from the White House indicated that Trump and Takaiichi signed a joint agreement during their meeting aimed at securing supplies of rare earth metals and critical minerals.
The Kyodo news agency reported that Takaiichi and Trump agreed to continue working on developing bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
Takaiichi, who became Japan's first female Prime Minister last week, pledged to build a "new golden era" for the U.S.-Japan alliance, while also praising Trump's role in promoting peace in the Middle East.
