ارتفع مؤشر الدولار خلال تعاملاته، أمس (الثلاثاء)، مع تراجع الجنيه الإسترليني بعدما أظهرت بيانات ارتفاع اقتراض الحكومة البريطانية خلال النصف الأول من العام المالي الحالي.
وزاد المؤشر -الذي يقيس أداء العملة الخضراء أمام سلة من 6 عملات رئيسية أخرى- بنسبة 0.3% إلى 98.89 نقطة.
وانخفض الجنيه الإسترليني بنسبة 0.2% إلى 1.3375 دولار، متأثرًا ببيانات كشفت ارتفاع إجمالي اقتراض الحكومة البريطانية بنسبة 13.2% إلى 99.8 مليار إسترليني (133.6 مليار دولار) في الفترة من شهر أبريل إلى شهر سبتمبر.
تراجع اليورو
وتراجع اليورو بنسبة 0.2% إلى 1.1614 دولار، وارتفعت العملة الأمريكية أمام نظيرتها اليابانية بنسبة 0.8% إلى 151.96 ين، عقب فوز «ساناي تاكايتشي» بمنصب رئيسة الوزراء في اليابان.
ويترقب المستثمرون صدور بيانات التضخم الأمريكية نهاية هذا الأسبوع، والتي قد تقدم المزيد من الدلائل حول آفاق السياسة النقدية في الولايات المتحدة.
The dollar index rose during trading yesterday (Tuesday), as the British pound fell after data showed an increase in borrowing by the UK government during the first half of the current financial year.
The index - which measures the performance of the greenback against a basket of 6 other major currencies - increased by 0.3% to 98.89 points.
The British pound dropped by 0.2% to 1.3375 dollars, affected by data revealing that total borrowing by the UK government rose by 13.2% to £99.8 billion ($133.6 billion) from April to September.
Euro Decline
The euro fell by 0.2% to 1.1614 dollars, and the US currency rose against the Japanese yen by 0.8% to 151.96 yen, following the victory of "Sanai Takaiichi" as Prime Minister of Japan.
Investors are awaiting the release of US inflation data at the end of this week, which may provide further clues about the outlook for monetary policy in the United States.
