أعلن الرئيس دونالد ترمب مساء الأربعاء عن اتفاق تجاري جديد وشامل مع كوريا الجنوبية، كاشفاً عن صفقة بمليارات الدولارات تشمل الطاقة والبنية التحتية وسياسة التعريفات.
وفي منشور له على منصة «تروث سوشال»، قال ترمب إن الولايات المتحدة أمّنت «اتفاقية تجارية كاملة وشاملة مع جمهورية كوريا»، بقيمة إجمالية تصل إلى مئات المليارات في الاستثمارات والمشتريات.
تتضمن الاتفاقية التزاماً من كوريا الجنوبية بقيمة 350 مليار دولار نحو استثمارات مملوكة ومُدارة أمريكياً.
وأضاف أن الأموال سيتم «اختيارها من قبلي، كرئيس»، ما يشير إلى أن الإدارة ستتمتع بسلطة تقديرية مباشرة على تخصيص رأس المال.
كما ستشتري كوريا الجنوبية ما قيمته 100 مليار دولار من الغاز الطبيعي المسال ومنتجات الطاقة الأمريكية الأخرى، ما يعكس زيادة كبيرة في تجارة الطاقة عبر المحيط الهادئ.
وصرح ترمب: «إضافة إلى ذلك، ستشتري كوريا الجنوبية 100 مليار دولار من الغاز الطبيعي المسال، أو منتجات الطاقة الأخرى»، بموجب الاتفاقية الجديدة.
ويتوقع «البيت الأبيض» الكشف عن مزيد من التفاصيل حول استثمارات كورية جنوبية إضافية خلال أسبوعين أثناء اجتماع ثنائي مقرر.
President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday evening a new and comprehensive trade agreement with South Korea, revealing a deal worth billions of dollars that includes energy, infrastructure, and tariff policy.
In a post on the "Truth Social" platform, Trump stated that the United States has secured a "full and comprehensive trade agreement with the Republic of Korea," with a total value reaching hundreds of billions in investments and purchases.
The agreement includes a commitment from South Korea of $350 billion towards U.S.-owned and managed investments.
He added that the funds will be "selected by me, as President," indicating that the administration will have direct discretionary authority over capital allocation.
South Korea will also purchase $100 billion worth of liquefied natural gas and other American energy products, reflecting a significant increase in energy trade across the Pacific.
Trump stated, "In addition, South Korea will buy $100 billion of liquefied natural gas, or other energy products," under the new agreement.
The "White House" is expected to reveal more details about additional South Korean investments within two weeks during a scheduled bilateral meeting.
