The number of oil drilling rigs in America continued to decline for the eighth consecutive week, according to data released yesterday (Friday) by Baker Hughes, which suggests a decrease in future supplies of black gold in the world's largest economy.

The data showed a decrease of one oil drilling rig during the week ending on June 20.

While the number of natural gas drilling rigs fell by two to 111 rigs, it remained 13 rigs higher than the level of the same week last year.
