سجلت الجمعية العامة للمكتب الدولي للمعارض «BIE» معرض إكسبو 2030 الرياض رسمياً كمعرض عالمي خلال حفل عقد اليوم (الثلاثاء).
وسيُقام معرض إكسبو 2030 الرياض تحت شعار «تخيّل الغد» في العاصمة السعودية الرياض للفترة من 1 أكتوبر حتى 31 مارس 2031.
واجتمع أعضاء الدول الأعضاء في المكتب الدولي للمعارض في باريس ووافقوا بالإجماع على تسجيل إكسبو 2030 الرياض، وفقاً للتوصية الصادرة عن اللجنة التنفيذية للمكتب الدولي للمعارض.
ويمنح هذا التسجيل معرض إكسبو 2030 الرياض صفة المعرض الدولي المسجل رسمياً، ويسمح للمملكة العربية السعودية بدخول مرحلة التنفيذ، بما في ذلك إرسال الدعوات الرسمية للمشاركين الدوليين عبر القنوات الدبلوماسية.
وعرضت السعودية ممثلة في وفدها بقيادة رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة الملكية لمدينة الرياض إبراهيم السلطان خطة تنفيذ المعرض العالمي إكسبو 2030.
وكانت السعودية قد انتُخبت دولة مضيفة للمعرض العالمي 2030 خلال الدورة الـ173 للجمعية العامة للمكتب الدولي للمعارض في شهر نوفمبر 2023، ومنذ ذلك الحين، تم إضفاء الطابع الرسمي على مشروع المعرض من خلال تقديم ملف التسجيل الذي يوضح خطة تنفيذ المعرض العالمي، ويعد هذا الملف وثيقة مرجعية تحدد تواريخ الافتتاح والاختتام، والإجراءات التشريعية والمالية، والمخطط الرئيسي للموقع، وشروط المشاركة الدولية، إضافة إلى عناصر إرث المعرض.
وصرح الأمين العام للمكتب الدولي للمعارض ديميتري إس كيركنتزيس قائلاً: «ستجمع إكسبو 2030 الرياض العالم حول الموضوع الرؤيوي (تخيّل الغد)، مما يشجع التعاون الدولي لاستشراف المستقبل ومواجهة التحديات القادمة، وستكون منصة رائدة للابتكار والتبادل، حيث تلتقي الأفكار والتقنيات».
وبين أن التسجيل الرسمي لإكسبو 2030 الرياض يمكّن السعودية من المضي قدماً في استعداداتها لاستقبال العالم في الرياض لمدة 6 أشهر من التبادل، والاكتشافات، والتعبئة الجماعية من أجل مستقبل أكثر مرونة وشمولية.
ومن المتوقع أن يستقبل إكسبو 2030 الرياض 197 دولة وأكثر من 40 مليون زيارة خلال الأشهر الستة للحدث، ويتمحور موضوع «تخيل الغد» حول 3 محاور فرعية: «تكنولوجيا التغيير، الحلول المستدامة، والازدهار للجميع».
ويمتد موقع المعرض على مساحة تقارب 6 كيلومترات مربعة، منها كيلومتران مربعان مخصصان للمعارض والأنشطة الأخرى، ويتناغم مع التضاريس الطبيعية لوادي السلي ويقع بالقرب من مطار الملك خالد الدولي.
وتُعد المعارض العالمية، والمعروفة أيضاً باسم «المعارض الدولية المسجلة»، أحداثاً دولية فريدة لا مثيل لها، إذ تلتقي فيها الأمم لاستكشاف موضوع عالمي بطريقة تشاركية وغامرة.

The General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) officially registered Expo 2030 Riyadh as a World Expo during a ceremony held today (Tuesday).
Expo 2030 Riyadh will be held under the theme "Imagine Tomorrow" in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, from October 1 to March 31, 2031.
Members of the BIE member states gathered in Paris and unanimously approved the registration of Expo 2030 Riyadh, according to the recommendation issued by the Executive Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions.
This registration grants Expo 2030 Riyadh the status of an officially registered international exhibition and allows the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enter the implementation phase, including sending official invitations to international participants through diplomatic channels.
Saudi Arabia, represented by its delegation led by the Chairman of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Ibrahim Al-Sultan, presented the implementation plan for the World Expo 2030.
Saudi Arabia was elected as the host country for the World Expo 2030 during the 173rd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions in November 2023. Since then, the project has been formalized by submitting a registration file that outlines the implementation plan for the World Expo. This file serves as a reference document that specifies the opening and closing dates, legislative and financial procedures, the master plan for the site, international participation requirements, in addition to the elements of the exhibition's legacy.
The Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions, Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, stated: "Expo 2030 Riyadh will bring the world together around the visionary theme (Imagine Tomorrow), encouraging international cooperation to envision the future and tackle upcoming challenges. It will be a leading platform for innovation and exchange, where ideas and technologies meet."
He indicated that the official registration of Expo 2030 Riyadh enables Saudi Arabia to move forward with its preparations to welcome the world in Riyadh for six months of exchange, discoveries, and collective mobilization for a more resilient and inclusive future.
Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to host 197 countries and more than 40 million visits during the six months of the event, with the theme "Imagine Tomorrow" revolving around three sub-themes: "Technology of Change, Sustainable Solutions, and Prosperity for All."
The exhibition site spans an area of nearly 6 square kilometers, with two square kilometers dedicated to exhibitions and other activities, harmonizing with the natural terrain of Wadi Al-Sulay and located near King Khalid International Airport.
