The Saudi Foreign Ministry refuted claims published by the American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal" regarding demands that the Houthi militia allegedly presented to the Kingdom, confirming that the content of the report is unfounded and that these allegations are the product of the imaginations of the article's writers or their alleged sources.
The Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Public Diplomacy, Raed Qarmali, categorically denied the accuracy of what the newspaper reported, stating via his account on the "X" platform: "I categorically deny what The Wall Street Journal published regarding demands made by this militia; all of this is unfounded and is a product of the imaginations of the article's writers or their alleged sources."
Qarmali Reminds of Houthi Crimes
In a firm response to what the American newspaper published, Qarmali reviewed the record of violations committed by the Houthi militia against Yemen and its people, confirming that they have turned against the Yemeni government, caused the starvation of the people, and plunged the country into conflicts and agendas that do not serve the interests of Yemenis.
He pointed to the militia's attacks on commercial ships in the waterways of the Red Sea, targeting civilian and economic sites, in addition to their rejection of all peace efforts.
A Reminder of the Legitimate Government
Qarmali emphasized the necessity of not ignoring the Yemeni legitimacy, sending a message to the report's writers, stating: "We remind the writers that Yemen has a recognized government."
51 Billion Dollars and Recognition of the Houthis!
The Saudi denial came in response to a report published by "The Wall Street Journal" on Thursday, which claimed, citing what it described as informed individuals on the talks, that the Houthi militia demanded the Kingdom pay 51 billion dollars and grant official recognition of them as the rulers of Yemen in exchange for halting their attacks.
These allegations were dismissed by the Saudi denial, which confirmed their lack of any basis in reality.
