The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, which is the Federal Reserve's preferred measure of inflation, recorded an increase of 2.7% in August on a year-over-year basis, compared to a rise of 2.6% in the previous July.
This slight increase reflects the ongoing inflationary pressures in the U.S. economy, which may influence the central bank's decisions regarding interest rates in the upcoming period.
