علّقت وزارة العمل اليونانية العمل في الخارج، اليوم، في العديد من المناطق بسبب ارتفاع درجات الحرارة التي قد تصل إلى 43 درجة مئوية في البلاد.
وجاء في بيان للوزارة أنه بالنظر إلى درجات الحرارة ومستويات عدم الراحة المرتفعة يمنع العمل في الخارج الثلاثاء من الساعة 12:00 إلى 17:00 (9:00 إلى 14:00 بتوقيت غرينتش) في العديد من المناطق.
ويشمل القرار العاملين في ورش البناء والأشغال العامة ومواقع الصيانة البحرية، إضافة إلى خدمات التوصيل في العديد من المناطق بما فيها أثينا والوجهات السياحية مثل الجزر الأيونية ورودس (جنوب شرق).
ومن المتوقع أن تبلغ درجات الحرارة 40 درجة مئوية في أثينا وثيسالونيكي، الثلاثاء، لتصل ذروتها في وسط اليونان مع 43 درجة مئوية.
وقدرت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية أن تسجل العاصمة، الخميس، 41 درجة مئوية.
يذكر أن اقتصاد اليونان قائم على الخدمات والقطاعات الصناعية. وساهم القطاع الزراعي بما يقدر بـ4% من الناتج الاقتصادي الوطني. واحتلت اليونان المرتبة السابعة بين الدول الأكثر زيارة في الاتحاد الأوروبي والمرتبة 16 في العالم.

The Greek Ministry of Labor suspended outdoor work today in many areas due to rising temperatures that could reach 43 degrees Celsius in the country.
In a statement from the ministry, it was noted that considering the temperatures and high levels of discomfort, outdoor work is prohibited on Tuesday from 12:00 to 17:00 (9:00 to 14:00 GMT) in many areas.
The decision includes workers in construction sites, public works, and marine maintenance locations, as well as delivery services in many areas including Athens and tourist destinations such as the Ionian Islands and Rhodes (southeast).
Temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius in Athens and Thessaloniki on Tuesday, peaking in central Greece at 43 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological agency estimated that the capital would record 41 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
It is worth mentioning that Greece's economy is based on services and industrial sectors. The agricultural sector contributed approximately 4% to the national economic output. Greece ranked seventh among the most visited countries in the European Union and sixteenth in the world.
