أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أن ممثلين عن باكستان سيصلون إلى الولايات المتحدة خلال أيام، في إطار مسعى إسلام أباد للتوصل إلى اتفاق بشأن الرسوم الجمركية.
وتواجه باكستان رسوماً جمركية محتملة بنسبة 29% على صادراتها إلى الولايات المتحدة، بسبب فائض تجاري يبلغ 3 مليارات دولار مع أكبر اقتصاد في العالم، وذلك بموجب الرسوم الجمركية التي أعلنتها واشنطن الشهر الماضي على دول حول العالم.
وأشار ترمب إلى أنه لن يكون مهتماً بعقد صفقة مع باكستان أو جارتها الهند، إذا ما دخلتا في حرب. وأضاف للصحفيين في قاعدة أندروز المشتركة بعد مغادرته طائرة الرئاسة: «كما تعلمون، نحن قريبون جداً من إبرام صفقة مع الهند».
وزار وزير التجارة الهندي بيوش جويال واشنطن في الآونة الأخيرة لدفع محادثات التجارة، حيث يهدف الجانبان إلى توقيع اتفاقية مؤقتة بحلول أوائل يوليو القادم. وتواجه الهند رسوماً جمركية بنسبة 26% على الشحنات المتجهة إلى الولايات المتحدة.
يذكر أن وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت، قال أمس: «إن الشركاء التجاريين بما فيهم اليابان يواصلون التفاوض مع الولايات المتحدة بحسن نية، ولم يطرأ أي تغير في مواقفهم منذ أن أصدرت محكمة تجارية أمريكية حكماً ضد الرسوم الجمركية التي فرضتها إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب في الآونة الأخيرة».
لكن بيسنت قال ل«فوكس نيوز»: «إن المفاوضات التجارية مع الصين متعثرة بعض الشيء، غير أنه توقع إجراء المزيد من المحادثات مع المسؤولين الصينيين في الأسابيع القادمة».

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that representatives from Pakistan will arrive in the United States within days as part of Islamabad's efforts to reach an agreement on tariffs.
Pakistan faces a potential 29% tariff on its exports to the United States due to a trade surplus of $3 billion with the world's largest economy, as per the tariffs announced by Washington last month on countries around the globe.
Trump indicated that he would not be interested in making a deal with Pakistan or its neighbor India if they entered into a war. He added to reporters at Joint Base Andrews after leaving the presidential plane: "As you know, we are very close to making a deal with India."
Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal recently visited Washington to advance trade talks, with both sides aiming to sign a temporary agreement by early July. India faces a 26% tariff on shipments heading to the United States.
It is worth noting that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pisent said yesterday: "Trade partners, including Japan, continue to negotiate with the United States in good faith, and there has been no change in their positions since a U.S. trade court ruled against the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump's administration recently."
However, Pisent told "Fox News": "Trade negotiations with China are somewhat stalled, but he expects to have more talks with Chinese officials in the coming weeks."
