أعلن الرئيس المصري عبدالفتاح السيسي، تطلُّع مصر لإنشاء منطقة صناعية أمريكية بالمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس، مشيراً الى استعداد الجانب المصري بتقديم كل التسهيلات اللازمة للمستثمرين الأمريكيين.
جاء ذلك خلال استقبال الرئيس السيسي، اليوم (الإثنين)، وفد رجال الأعمال الأمريكيين المشاركين في المنتدى الاقتصادي المصري الأمريكي المنعقد بالقاهرة، إذ ترأس الوفد رئيسة غرفة التجارة الأمريكية سوزان كلارك، ورئيس مجلس الأعمال الأمريكي المصري رئيس شركة أباتشي جونكريسمان.
ووفق بيان رسمي صادر عن رئاسة الجمهورية المصرية، أكد السيسي، أن الاستثمار في مصر يعتبر فرصة لأي مستثمر، لافتاً الى أن مصر سوقاً كبيرة وبها بنية أساسية جاهزة ومتقدمة لاستقبال الاستثمارات، وأنه تم إجراء إصلاحات تشريعية لدعم جهود جذب الاستثمارات الأجنبية.
وقال إن المنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس تقدم كل التسهيلات لعمل الشركات والمستثمرين الأجانب، مستعرضاً الجهود التي تقوم بها الحكومة المصرية في إطار برنامج الإصلاح الاقتصادي، مما ساهم في تحسين مؤشرات الاقتصاد الكلي بشكل ملحوظ، وتعزيز الإنتاجية، وخلق فرص عمل.
ونوه السيسي بالفرص الكبيرة المتاحة للمستثمرين الأجانب في مصر، خصوصاً في ضوء موقع مصر الجغرافي المميز، الذي تلعب من خلاله دور البوابة للأسواق العربية والأفريقية، وكذا إلى أوروبا، مُرحبًا بالاستثمارات الأمريكية سواء القائمة أو الجديدة، وأن مصر مستعدة لتقديم كافة التسهيلات اللازمة وتذليل أية عقبات لضمان نجاح عمل الشركات والمستثمرين الأمريكيين في مصر.
من جانبها، أشارت سوزان كلارك، إلى أن زيارة وفد رجال الأعمال الأمريكيين إلى مصر يؤكد قوة ومتانه علاقة التحالف الإستراتيجي بين مصر والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، موضحة أن الشركات الأمريكية العاملة في مصر تحقق نجاحات ملموسة وتساهم في عملية التنمية بمصر، وتعتبر نموذجاً يحتذى به في نجاح التعاون الثنائي بين البلدين، على غرار شركة آباتشي، وهو الأمر الذي ثمنه الرئيس، معرباً عن تقديره لنجاح أعمال شركة آباتشي في مصر وتوسيع نطاق عملها بها.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced Egypt's aspiration to establish an American industrial zone in the Suez Canal economic zone, indicating that the Egyptian side is ready to provide all necessary facilities for American investors.
This came during President El-Sisi's reception today (Monday) of a delegation of American businessmen participating in the Egyptian-American Economic Forum held in Cairo, which was headed by the President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Suzanne Clark, and the Chairman of the American-Egyptian Business Council and CEO of Apache Corporation, John Christmann.
According to an official statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi confirmed that investment in Egypt represents an opportunity for any investor, pointing out that Egypt is a large market with a ready and advanced infrastructure to receive investments, and that legislative reforms have been made to support efforts to attract foreign investments.
He stated that the Suez Canal economic zone provides all the facilities for foreign companies and investors, reviewing the efforts made by the Egyptian government within the framework of the economic reform program, which has contributed to significantly improving macroeconomic indicators, enhancing productivity, and creating job opportunities.
El-Sisi highlighted the significant opportunities available for foreign investors in Egypt, especially in light of Egypt's distinctive geographical location, which plays a role as a gateway to Arab and African markets, as well as to Europe, welcoming both existing and new American investments, and affirming that Egypt is ready to provide all necessary facilities and remove any obstacles to ensure the success of American companies and investors in Egypt.
For her part, Suzanne Clark pointed out that the visit of the American businessmen's delegation to Egypt confirms the strength and resilience of the strategic alliance between Egypt and the United States, explaining that American companies operating in Egypt are achieving tangible successes and contributing to the development process in Egypt, and are considered a model for successful bilateral cooperation between the two countries, similar to Apache Corporation, which the president appreciated, expressing his gratitude for the success of Apache's operations in Egypt and the expansion of its work there.
