أعلنت وكالة موديز للتصنيف الائتماني خفض التصنيف الائتماني للولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بسبب زيادة الدين الحكومي، وهي خطوة تاريخية تثير الشكوك بشأن وضع البلاد باعتبارها المقترض السيادي الأعلى جودة في العالم.
وخفضت «موديز» التصنيف الائتماني لأمريكا من AAA إلى «AA1» أمس (الجمعة)، لتنضم إلى وكالتي «فيتش» و«ستاندرد آند بورز» في خفض تصنيف أكبر اقتصاد في العالم من أعلى تقييم والبالغ «AAA».
يأتي هذا التخفيض بدرجة واحدة بعد أكثر من عامٍ من تعديل «موديز» نظرتها المستقبلية للتصنيف الائتماني للولايات المتحدة إلى سلبية. وقد عدلت الوكالة الآن نظرتها المستقبلية إلى مستقرة.
وقالت «موديز» في بيان: «بينما ندرك القوة الاقتصادية والمالية الكبيرة التي تتمتع بها الولايات المتحدة، فإننا نعتقد أن هذه القوة لم تعد قادرة بشكل كامل على موازنة تراجع المؤشرات المالية».
Moody's credit rating agency announced a downgrade of the credit rating of the United States due to the increase in government debt, a historic step that raises doubts about the country's status as the highest quality sovereign borrower in the world.
Moody's downgraded America's credit rating from AAA to AA1 yesterday (Friday), joining Fitch and Standard & Poor's in downgrading the largest economy in the world from its highest rating of AAA.
This downgrade comes after more than a year since Moody's adjusted its outlook on the credit rating of the United States to negative. The agency has now revised its outlook to stable.
Moody's stated in a statement: "While we recognize the significant economic and financial strength of the United States, we believe that this strength is no longer fully able to offset the decline in financial indicators."
