نفى الجهاز القومي لتنظيم الاتصالات في مصر صحة ما يتردد بشأن زيادة أسعار خدمات الإنترنت والمحمول بنسبة 35%، مؤكداً عدم صدور أي قرار جديد بهذا الشأن حتى الآن.
وقال النائب التنفيذي المتحدث باسم الجهاز المهندس محمد إبراهيم، إن ما يتم تداوله عن اعتزام شركات الاتصالات رفع أسعار خدمات الإنترنت والمحمول بنسبة 35% لا يستند إلى قرار رسمي، مشدداً على أن الجهاز يتابع ما يثار من معلومات وشائعات بشأن أسعار الخدمات.
وأوضح إبراهيم، خلال تصريحات تلفزيونية، أن أي تحريك رسمي لأسعار خدمات الاتصالات سيتم الإعلان عنه بصورة واضحة من خلال الجهاز القومي لتنظيم الاتصالات، مع توضيح تفاصيل القرار وأسبابه، داعياً المستخدمين إلى عدم الانسياق وراء المعلومات غير الموثقة.
وأكد أن أسعار خدمات المحمول لم تشهد تحريكاً جديداً بنسبة 35%، موضحاً أن الجهاز سبق أن أعلن رسمياً عن أي تغييرات طرأت على أسعار الخدمات، وأن النهج ذاته سيُتبع حال اتخاذ أي قرار جديد.
ويأتي النفي الرسمي بعد انتشار منشورات عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي تتحدث عن زيادات مرتقبة في أسعار باقات الإنترنت وخدمات المحمول، الأمر الذي أثار تساؤلات واسعة بين المستخدمين بشأن حقيقة الأسعار خلال الفترة القادمة.
وكان سوق الاتصالات المصري قد شهد في مايو الماضي تحريكاً لأسعار بعض الخدمات بنسب راوحت بين 9% و15%، في حين جرى تثبيت أسعار دقيقة الصوت للمحمول والهاتف الثابت وأسعار كروت شحن الرصيد والمحافظ الإلكترونية، بحسب ما أُعلن حينها.
ويرتبط ملف أسعار الاتصالات في مصر بارتفاع تكلفة تشغيل وتطوير الشبكات، بالتزامن مع النمو المتواصل في استخدام الإنترنت والبيانات، وهو ما دفع الجهاز خلال الفترة الماضية إلى السماح بتحريك أسعار بعض الخدمات مع التأكيد على استمرار تطوير الشبكات وتحسين جودة الخدمة.
وفي المقابل، يواصل الجهاز القومي لتنظيم الاتصالات متابعة سوق الاتصالات وحماية حقوق المستخدمين، بما يشمل مراقبة جودة الخدمات والتعامل مع شكاوى المشتركين ومتابعة التزام شركات الاتصالات بالقواعد التنظيمية.
وفي سياق متصل، أعلن الجهاز أخيراً نجاح تجربة لتشغيل خدمات الهاتف المحمول باستخدام الحيز الترددي 6 غيغاهرتز، في خطوة تستهدف دعم قدرات الشبكات واستيعاب النمو المتزايد في حركة البيانات، ضمن الاستعداد لتطورات الأجيال القادمة من خدمات الاتصالات.
وبحسب تصريحات الجهاز، فإن الحديث عن زيادة جديدة بنسبة 35% لا يمثل قراراً نافذاً في الوقت الحالي، فيما سيكون أي تعديل مستقبلي في الأسعار معلناً رسمياً من الجهة التنظيمية المختصة.
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in Egypt has denied the validity of rumors regarding a 35% increase in internet and mobile service prices, confirming that no new decision has been issued in this regard so far.
Engineer Mohamed Ibrahim, the executive spokesperson for the authority, stated that the claims about telecommunications companies intending to raise internet and mobile service prices by 35% are not based on an official decision, emphasizing that the authority is monitoring the information and rumors circulating about service prices.
Ibrahim explained during a television interview that any official adjustment to telecommunications service prices will be announced clearly by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, along with details of the decision and its reasons, urging users not to be swayed by unverified information.
He confirmed that mobile service prices have not seen a new increase of 35%, clarifying that the authority has previously officially announced any changes that occurred in service prices, and that the same approach will be followed if any new decision is made.
This official denial comes after posts circulated on social media platforms discussing anticipated increases in internet and mobile service packages, which raised widespread questions among users about the reality of prices in the upcoming period.
The Egyptian telecommunications market witnessed a price adjustment for some services last May, with increases ranging between 9% and 15%, while the prices for mobile and landline voice minutes and recharge cards and electronic wallets were maintained, as announced at that time.
The issue of telecommunications prices in Egypt is linked to the rising costs of operating and developing networks, alongside the continuous growth in internet and data usage, which has led the authority in recent times to allow adjustments in the prices of some services while confirming the ongoing development of networks and improving service quality.
In parallel, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority continues to monitor the telecommunications market and protect users' rights, which includes monitoring service quality, addressing subscriber complaints, and ensuring that telecommunications companies comply with regulatory rules.
In a related context, the authority recently announced the successful trial of mobile phone services using the 6 GHz frequency band, in a step aimed at supporting network capabilities and accommodating the increasing growth in data traffic, as part of preparations for the developments of the next generations of telecommunications services.
According to the authority's statements, the talk of a new 35% increase does not represent an enforceable decision at this time, while any future price adjustment will be officially announced by the relevant regulatory authority.
