فتح الفنان المصري أحمد العوضي باب الحديث عن المنافسة بين نجوم السينما والدراما، متناولاً تجربته مع شباك التذاكر وعلاقته بالمنافسين والجمهور، ومعلناً بشكل صريح أن فيلم محمد إمام «صقر وكناريا» حقق إيرادات أعلى من فيلمه، قبل أن يكشف عن موقفه من المنافسة على صدارة المشاهدة في الدراما.
وقال العوضي، خلال استضافته في بودكاست، إن فيلم محمد إمام حقق إيرادات أعلى من فيلمه، مؤكداً أنه بادر إلى تهنئته على نجاح العمل، قائلاً: «فيلم محمد إمام صقر وكناريا حقق إيرادات أكثر مني، وأرسلت له على الواتساب وقلت له مبروك».
وفي ما يتعلق بالمنافسة الدرامية، أوضح العوضي أن لديه وجهة نظر مختلفة بشأن نسب المشاهدة، مشيراً إلى أنه يرى نفسه في صدارة الفنانين من هذه الناحية، مؤكداً في الوقت نفسه أنه لم ينزعج من تصريحات الفنان عمرو سعد التي حملت رأياً مخالفاً.
وتحدث العوضي كذلك عن دوره في اختيار أفكار أعماله الدرامية والمواهب المشاركة فيها، موضحاً أن بعض أفكار مسلسلاته تنطلق منه، وأنه يحرص على منح الفرصة لوجوه شابة، من بينها كارولين عزمي وسارة بركة، إلى جانب رهانه على يارا السكري.
وأشاد بتجربة السكري، لافتاً إلى أن مشاركتها في مسلسل «فهد البطل» ساهمت في لفت الأنظار إليها، قبل انتقالها إلى السينما من خلال فيلم «صقر وكناريا» مع محمد إمام.
وعن علاقته بالجمهور، قال العوضي إنه يعتبر نفسه الأكثر مشاهدة وجماهيرية وقرباً من الجمهور في الشارع، مضيفاً: «أنا الأكثر مشاهدة، وهذه هي الحقيقة، والأكثر جماهيرية وقرباً من البسطاء في الشارع، ولا أحد ينافسني في هذه المنطقة».
وتأتي تصريحات العوضي في سياق حديثه عن المنافسة الفنية، إذ أقر بتفوق «صقر وكناريا» على فيلمه من حيث الإيرادات، بينما عبّر عن اعتقاده بتصدره المشهد من حيث المشاهدة والجماهيرية في الدراما.

El Awady also spoke about his role in selecting ideas for his dramatic works and the talents involved, explaining that some ideas for his series originate from him, and that he is keen on giving opportunities to young faces, including Caroline Azmy and Sara Baraka, alongside his bet on Yara El Sokary.
He praised El Sokary's experience, noting that her participation in the series "Fahd the Hero" helped draw attention to her, before she transitioned to cinema through the film "Saqr and Kanarya" with Mohamed Imam.
Regarding his relationship with the audience, El Awady said that he considers himself the most watched and popular, and the closest to the audience in the street, adding: "I am the most watched, and this is the truth, and the most popular and closest to the ordinary people in the street, and no one competes with me in this area."
El Awady's statements come in the context of his discussion about artistic competition, as he acknowledged the superiority of "Saqr and Kanarya" over his film in terms of revenues, while expressing his belief in his leading position in terms of viewership and popularity in drama.
