انطلقت اليوم (الثلاثاء) فعاليات النسخة الرابعة من معرض المدينة المنورة للكتاب 2025، الذي تنظمه هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة، وتستمر فعالياته حتى الرابع من أغسطس القادم، بمشاركة أكثر من 300 دار نشر ووكالة عربية ودولية، موزعة على أكثر من 200 جناح، وذلك في مقر المعرض خلف مركز الملك سلمان الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض.
ويقدّم المعرض هذا العام تجربة ثقافية غنية ومتنوعـة، تتناول موضوعات نوعية تعكس الحراك الثقافي في المملكة، وتلبي اهتمامات الزوار بمختلف شرائحهم وميولهم، من خلال مجموعة واسعة من الإصدارات الحديثة في مجالات الأدب والمعرفة والعلوم، إلى جانب برنامج ثقافي حافل يتضمن ندوات، وجلسات حوارية، وورش عمل، وأمسيات أدبية وشعرية، بمشاركة نخبة من المثقفين والخبراء.
ويشارك في المعرض عدد من الكيانات الحكومية والمؤسسات الثقافية والمجتمعية، لاستعراض أبرز مبادراتها وبرامجها، إلى جانب تنظيم ركن توقيع الكتب الذي يتيح للزوار فرصة لقاء المؤلفين، والتعرف على تجاربهم الأدبية والفكرية عن قرب، بما يعزّز من ثقافة القراءة ويحفّز الحوار الثقافي.
ويخصص المعرض منطقة تفاعلية موسعة للأطفال، تضم ستة أركان رئيسية، تقدم محتوى تربويًا وتفاعليًا متنوعًا، يشمل أنشطة تعليمية ومهارية وورش عمل تعزز من قدراتهم الإبداعية، إضافة إلى برامج ثقافية تُقدَّم في إطار يجمع بين الترفيه والأدب، بما يسهم في ترسيخ القيم المعرفية والتعليمية لدى الأطفال، وتشجيعهم على التعلّم والقراءة. كما تشمل المنطقة مسرحًا يوميًا يقدم عروضًا قصصية وتمثيلية، ومنطقتين للانتظار مجهزتين لراحة الأطفال ضمن بيئة آمنة وجاذبة.
وتنظَّم ضمن فعاليات المعرض أيضًا ورش عمل مخصصة لليافعين من الفئة العمرية (11 إلى 15 سنة)، تتناول أساسيات كتابة القصة، وتوفر تجارب مستلهمة من الهوية الثقافية السعودية، ضمن مبادرة «عام الحِرف اليدوية السعودي»، بالإضافة إلى تجارب عملية في عالم الطهي، تهدف إلى صقل المهارات وتحفيز التعلّم من خلال التفاعل المباشر.
ويأتي المعرض ضمن مبادرة «معارض الكتاب في السعودية»، وهي إحدى المبادرات الإستراتيجية التي أطلقتها هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة، وتهدف إلى تمكين صناعة النشر، وتحفيز الوعي الثقافي والمعرفي، والإسهام في التنمية الاقتصادية وجودة الحياة، بما يتماشى مع مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
ويُعدّ معرض المدينة المنورة للكتاب المحطة الثانية في سلسلة معارض الهيئة لهذا العام، بعد تنظيم معرض جازان في فبراير الماضي، ويستقبل زواره طوال أيامه السبعة من الساعة الثانية ظهرًا وحتى الثانية عشرة منتصف الليل، مقدمًا لهم تجربة ثقافية متكاملة تحتفي بالكتاب وتُعزز من مكانة المدينة المنورة على خارطة الفعل الثقافي الوطني.
The fourth edition of the Madinah Book Fair 2025 kicked off today (Tuesday), organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, and will continue until August 4th, with the participation of more than 300 Arabic and international publishing houses and agencies, distributed across more than 200 pavilions, at the fair's venue behind the King Salman International Conference and Exhibition Center.
This year, the fair offers a rich and diverse cultural experience, addressing quality topics that reflect the cultural movement in the Kingdom and meet the interests of visitors from various segments and inclinations, through a wide range of modern publications in the fields of literature, knowledge, and sciences, alongside a busy cultural program that includes seminars, discussion sessions, workshops, and literary and poetic evenings, featuring a selection of intellectuals and experts.
A number of governmental entities and cultural and community institutions are participating in the fair to showcase their most prominent initiatives and programs, in addition to organizing a book signing corner that allows visitors the opportunity to meet authors and learn about their literary and intellectual experiences up close, which enhances the culture of reading and stimulates cultural dialogue.
The fair also dedicates an expanded interactive area for children, which includes six main sections offering diverse educational and interactive content, including educational and skill-building activities and workshops that enhance their creative abilities, in addition to cultural programs presented in a framework that combines entertainment and literature, contributing to instilling knowledge and educational values in children and encouraging them to learn and read. The area also includes a daily theater that presents storytelling and theatrical performances, as well as two waiting areas equipped for the comfort of children within a safe and attractive environment.
Workshops dedicated to adolescents aged 11 to 15 are also organized as part of the fair's activities, covering the basics of storytelling and providing experiences inspired by Saudi cultural identity, as part of the "Saudi Year of Handicrafts" initiative, in addition to practical experiences in the culinary world, aimed at honing skills and stimulating learning through direct interaction.
The fair is part of the "Book Fairs in Saudi Arabia" initiative, which is one of the strategic initiatives launched by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, aimed at empowering the publishing industry, enhancing cultural and intellectual awareness, and contributing to economic development and quality of life, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The Madinah Book Fair is the second stop in the Commission's series of fairs this year, following the Jazan Fair held last February, and it welcomes visitors throughout its seven days from 2 PM to 12 AM, providing them with a comprehensive cultural experience that celebrates books and enhances the status of Madinah on the national cultural action map.
