تُشارك هيئة الأفلام في النسخة الأوروبية الأولى من مهرجان SXSW، الذي يُقام في العاصمة البريطانية لندن خلال الفترة من 2 إلى 7 يونيو (2025م).
ويُعد المهرجان منصة عالمية مرموقة تجمع نخبة من المهنيين والخبراء في مختلف القطاعات الإبداعية، عبر فعاليات متعددة تشمل الجلسات الحوارية، والعروض الموسيقية والكوميدية، والعروض السينمائية والتلفزيونية، إضافة إلى المعارض والمسابقات التقنية وفرص التطوير المهني وبناء الشراكات.
وتتضمن مشاركة الهيئة عرض مجموعة من الأفلام السعودية القصيرة برعاية «ليالي الفيلم السعودي»، من بينها فيلم «ميرا ميرا ميرا» للمخرج خالد زيدان، وفيلم «ناموسة» للمخرجتين رنيم ودانة المهندس، وفيلم «حادي العيس» للمخرج عبدالله سحرتي؛ بهدف تمكين المواهب الوطنية، وإيصال القصص السعودية إلى جمهور عالمي.
وتنظم الهيئة جلسة حوارية بعنوان «تمكين صناعة السينما في السعودية.. من الرؤية إلى الواقع»، تناقش فيها دور السينما في تشكيل الهوية الوطنية، وتعزيز الانتماء الثقافي، ودعم المحتوى المحلي، بوصفها أداة فاعلة من أدوات القوة الناعمة.
وتسلّط الهيئة الضوء ضمن الجناح السعودي على أبرز الإنجازات السينمائية الوطنية، من خلال معرض يبرز الأفلام التي حققت أكثر من 250 ألف تذكرة في شباك التذاكر أو حظيت بمشاركة دولية في مهرجانات سينمائية مرموقة أو نالت جوائز عالمية، مما يعكس تطور الصناعة السينمائية السعودية وحضورها المتنامي على الساحة الدولية.
يذكر أن هيئة الأفلام تشارك ضمن الجناح السعودي المشترك الذي يضم عدداً من الجهات من القطاعات الإبداعية، من بينها هيئة الموسيقى، وهيئة فنون الطهي، وهيئة الأزياء، و«MOCX»؛ بهدف تقديم صورة متكاملة تعكس ثراء وتنوع المشهد الثقافي السعودي.
وتؤكد هذه المشاركة التزام هيئة الأفلام بتوسيع الحضور السعودي على المنصات العالمية، وتمكين المواهب، وتعزيز مكانة المملكة وجهةً سينمائيةً رائدةً في المنطقة.
The Film Commission is participating in the first European edition of the SXSW festival, which will be held in the British capital, London, from June 2 to 7, 2025.
The festival is a prestigious global platform that brings together a select group of professionals and experts from various creative sectors, through multiple events including panel discussions, musical and comedic performances, and film and television screenings, in addition to exhibitions, technical competitions, professional development opportunities, and partnership building.
The Commission's participation includes showcasing a collection of short Saudi films sponsored by "Saudi Film Nights," among them the film "Mira Mira Mira" by director Khaled Zidan, the film "Namousa" by directors Raneem and Dana Al-Muhandis, and the film "Hadi Al-Ees" by director Abdullah Saharti; aimed at empowering national talents and conveying Saudi stories to a global audience.
The Commission is organizing a panel discussion titled "Empowering the Film Industry in Saudi Arabia... From Vision to Reality," which will discuss the role of cinema in shaping national identity, enhancing cultural belonging, and supporting local content, as an effective tool of soft power.
The Commission highlights, within the Saudi pavilion, the most prominent national cinematic achievements through an exhibition showcasing films that have sold over 250,000 tickets at the box office or have received international participation in prestigious film festivals or won global awards, reflecting the development of the Saudi film industry and its growing presence on the international stage.
It is worth mentioning that the Film Commission is participating within the joint Saudi pavilion, which includes several entities from the creative sectors, including the Music Commission, the Culinary Arts Commission, the Fashion Commission, and "MOCX"; aiming to present a comprehensive image that reflects the richness and diversity of the Saudi cultural scene.
This participation reaffirms the Film Commission's commitment to expanding Saudi presence on global platforms, empowering talents, and enhancing the Kingdom's position as a leading cinematic destination in the region.
