«الثقافة» تطلق «تحدي الابتكار» بمشاركة كفاءات وطنية وخبراء عالميين

Under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the Ministry of Culture today launched the "Cultural Innovation Challenge (Polisathon)," an interactive event aimed at engaging the entire cultural community in a hackathon to design cultural policies, with the participation of a number of national talents and global experts; to support the growth of the cultural sector and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.

The "Cultural Innovation Challenge" focuses on developing the skill of designing cultural policies by involving prominent creators, talents, and those interested in culture in a creative competition that concentrates on providing solutions and policies capable of addressing challenges or exploiting existing opportunities to support the growth and prosperity of the cultural sector, with the presence of a number of national talents, university students, and local and international experts. The experience focuses on raising awareness of the foundations of cultural policy design and understanding the methodology of creating innovative and quality policies according to the best practices in the field.

The challenge targets innovators, entrepreneurs, academic researchers, public policy workers, university students, as well as the cultural audience and employees of government entities and other related groups. The ministry has allocated cash prizes exceeding 500,000 riyals, which will be distributed to the winners.

The launch of the Cultural Innovation Challenge by the Ministry of Culture comes in response to the growing need for participatory tools that contribute to the creation of innovative cultural policies that help raise awareness of their importance and establish the concept of participatory design in policy-making, in addition to formulating flexible national policies that accommodate rapid changes and support the cultural identity of the Kingdom in alignment with the national culture strategy, under the umbrella of Vision 2030.
