The Syrian director Zuhair Qannoua will begin filming episodes of the third season of the social comedy series "Abu Janti" in Damascus next Tuesday, in preparation for its airing during Ramadan 2027, marking 15 years since the second season aired in 2012.
Filming in Damascus
Qannoua explained in a press interview that the events of the series will be filmed in Damascus, except for three episodes that will be shot in other Syrian provinces.
He said: "The series, written by the Syrian artist Samer Al-Masri, with the participation of a workshop that included writers Yazan Dahouk and Amir Abu Al-Khair, retains the spirit and essence of the first season that the audience loved, expecting that the current script will be stronger and better crafted."
Qannoua confirmed that the work retains most of its main stars while introducing new plots and characters, pointing out that the primary goal of the work is to be a balm that plants joy and smiles in the hearts of viewers.
The Syrian Pain
He added: "The series will not be limited to entertainment; each episode carries a meaningful message and a story that touches the depth of the daily pain of Syrians and the details of their lives," noting that Abu Janti's situation is similar to that of most Syrians, having experienced exile and moving between the Gulf, Turkey, and Europe, ultimately returning to his homeland, a return that influenced the stories and made the topics presented in the new season deeper.
Abu Janti's Heroes
The new season of the series features Samer Al-Masri, Samia Al-Jazaeri, Ayman Rida, Andre Skaf, Shukran Murtaja, Nizar Abu Hajar, Samir Al-Shamaat, and Muhammad Al-Rashi, in addition to the joining of other artists as main and guest stars.
