أطلق المخرج محمود محمود أحدث مشاريعه السينمائية من خلال الفيلم القصير «مَين يُحضِن البحر»، الذي اختار تقديمه قبل انطلاق فيلمه الروائي الطويل بدور العرض، ليضع الجمهور أمام تجربة إنسانية صادقة تنبع من حاجة البشر العميقة إلى الحضن وسط عالم تمزّقه الحروب والصراعات.
فكرة العمل
وأكّد محمود أنّ فكرة العمل جاءت من إحساس مشترك يجمعه بالناس جميعًا: «كلّنا في احتياج شديد إلى الحضن، ولكن رغم ذلك لا نرحم بعض ولا نعرف كيف نحب بعض».
أحداث الفيلم
تدور أحداث الفيلم في إطار كوميدي تراجيدي، حيث يقدّم رؤية فلسفية عن كلّ إنسان يحمل في داخله «بحرًا صامتًا» مثقلًا بالأسرار والجروح. وفي زمن يزداد قسوة وتفاهة يواجه الإنسان حروبًا لا تتوقف؛ بين السلاح والدمار، وصراعات تسرق منه الحب. ولا يتبقّى أمامه سوى دفء بسيط يعيده إلى إنسانيته: كلمة، سؤال صادق، جبر خاطر، أو حضن يردّ إليه الأمل قبل أن يفرّقنا العمر أو تنتهي بنا الحياة.
أبطال العمل
يشارك في بطولة الفيلم الفنان القدير حسين نخلة، إلى جانب نخبة من الفنانين (بحسب ترتيب الظهور): شريف صالح، والفنانة اللبنانية رولا، أحمد إيهاب، يوسف العبيد، مصطفى المليجي، وأحمد ناصر سيف، في مزيج فني يخدم فلسفة العمل ويثري رسالته الإنسانية.
تولّى مصطفى جويدة مهمة التأليف الموسيقي والهندسة الصوتية، فيما جاءت الأغنيات بأصوات يسرى العسيلي، يحيى بيهقي، الشاب ضياء، ونور العسيلي، بكلمات شعرية من إبداع يسرى العسيلي، وابتكار محمود عبد السيد العجيب، إلى جانب نصوص مستوحاة من التراث العربي.
جاء المكياج والشعر بتوقيع منه خورشيد، فيما أشرف على إدارة الإنتاج والتصوير الفوتوغرافي يوسف رضوان، وأدار مواقع التصوير أحمد عودة، كما وضع الرسام والمصمّم محمد نور بصمته البصرية المميزة، بينما تولّت كلير توفيق مسؤولية الإعلام والصحافة، وأنجزت معامل أنيس عبيد مهمة الترجمة.
سجّل حضورًا تقنيًا لافتًا كلٌّ من: زيد أبو عرّة عبر الكاميرا، وعمرو نبيه في المونتاج والتلوين، ومدير التصوير د. تامر رضوان، مع شكر خاص إلى محمد مبروك لدعمه المميز.
يُعدّ هذا الفيلم الجديد خطوة مهمة في مسيرة المخرج محمود محمود، الذي قدّم من قبل فيلم «كاستنج يوسف شاهين» من إنتاج سامح حلمي و«ماجدة» من إنتاج سمير النيل، وغيرهما من الأعمال التي حققت نجاحًا في دور العرض العربية والأجنبية، ومؤخرًا حصل محمود على جائزة أفضل مخرج في مهرجانات سينمائية دولية.
Director Mahmoud Mahmoud has launched his latest cinematic project with the short film "Who Hugs the Sea," which he chose to present before the release of his feature film in theaters, to offer the audience a sincere human experience stemming from the deep need of people for a hug in a world torn apart by wars and conflicts.
The Concept of the Work
Mahmoud confirmed that the idea of the work came from a shared feeling that connects him with everyone: "We are all in desperate need of a hug, yet despite that, we do not show mercy to one another and do not know how to love each other."
The Events of the Film
The film unfolds in a tragicomic framework, presenting a philosophical vision of every human carrying within them a "silent sea" weighed down by secrets and wounds. In a time that grows harsher and more trivial, a person faces unending wars; between weapons and destruction, and conflicts that rob them of love. All that remains is a simple warmth that brings them back to their humanity: a word, a sincere question, a gesture of kindness, or a hug that restores hope before life separates us or time runs out.
The Cast
The film stars the esteemed artist Hussein Nakhlah, alongside a selection of artists (in order of appearance): Sherif Saleh, Lebanese artist Rola, Ahmed Ihab, Youssef Al-Obaid, Mustafa Al-Meligi, and Ahmed Nasser Saif, in an artistic blend that serves the philosophy of the work and enriches its human message.
Mustafa Jouida took on the task of musical composition and sound engineering, while the songs featured the voices of Yusra Al-Asili, Yahya Bayhqi, young Diaa, and Nour Al-Asili, with poetic lyrics created by Yusra Al-Asili and the innovative Mahmoud Abdel-Sayed Al-Ajeeb, alongside texts inspired by Arab heritage.
The makeup and hair were designed by Mona Khorshid, while Yusuf Radwan supervised production management and photography, and Ahmed Awda managed the filming locations. The artist and designer Mohamed Nour left his distinctive visual mark, while Claire Tawfiq was responsible for media and press, and Anis Obeid's labs handled the translation tasks.
Notable technical contributions came from: Zaid Abu Arrah with the camera, Amr Nabi in editing and coloring, and Director of Photography Dr. Tamer Radwan, with special thanks to Mohamed Mabrouk for his exceptional support.
This new film is an important step in the career of director Mahmoud Mahmoud, who previously presented the film "Casting Youssef Chahine" produced by Samah Helmy and "Majida" produced by Samir Al-Nil, among other works that achieved success in Arab and foreign theaters. Recently, Mahmoud received the Best Director award at international film festivals.
