انتقد الفنان المصري محمد التاجي، أفلام المخرج الراحل يوسف شاهين، واصفاً أعماله بأنها لم تحقق نجاحاً في شباك التذاكر، بجانب مطالبته للفنان المصري يوسف الشريف اعتزاله الفن في هذه الحالة.

أكد محمد التاجي خلال استضافته في أحد البرامج التل أن أفلام يوسف شاهين لا تنال إعجابه، فضلا عن كونها لم تحقق نجاحًا جماهيريًا في شباك التذاكر، لافتًا إلى أن فيلم «الأرض» أسوأ الأعمال في تاريخ السينما المصرية ولن يعدل عن رأيي.

وأشار «التاجي» إلى أن أفلام المخرج يوسف شاهين تسببت في خسائر فادحة لعدد من المنتجين، قائلاً: «خسر المنتجون الكثير من الأموال بسببها، وعلى سبيل المثال فيلم الناصر صلاح الدين، الذي لعب بطولته أحمد مظهر ومحمود المليجي، فلم يحقق أي نجاح جماهيري، والمنتجة تراكمت عليها الديون».
وفي سياق مختلف، كشف «التاجي» سبب غياب يوسف الشريف عن الساحة الفنية لفترة طويلة، مشيرًا إلى أن يرجع إلى تصريحات المثيرة للجدل الذي صرح بها بالسنوات الماضية حول رفضه مشاهد التلامس في أعماله الفنية، ما جعل الكثير من زملاء بالوسط الفني يهاجمون تصريحاته.
وتابع: أحد الزملاء الفنانين هاجم يوسف الشريف بعد تصريحاته قائلًا: «لو مش عاجبه يعتزل»، وهذا أمر غير مقبول، وليس من حق أي فنان أن يضع ضوابط ومعايير لزميل آخر، فمن حق كل فنان أن يختار نوعية الأدوار التي تناسبه، لكن بالطبع فإن تصريحاته أثرت بالسلب عليه».

El-Taji pointed out that the films of director Youssef Chahine caused significant losses for several producers, saying: "Producers lost a lot of money because of them, for example, the film 'Al-Nasir Salah al-Din,' which starred Ahmed Mazhar and Mahmoud El-Meligy, did not achieve any popular success, and the producer accumulated debts."
In a different context, El-Taji revealed the reason for Youssef El-Sherif's long absence from the artistic scene, indicating that it is due to the controversial statements he made in previous years regarding his rejection of touching scenes in his artistic works, which led many colleagues in the artistic community to attack his statements.
He continued: One of the fellow artists attacked Youssef El-Sherif after his statements, saying: "If he doesn't like it, he should retire," which is unacceptable, and no artist has the right to impose rules and standards on another colleague. Every artist has the right to choose the type of roles that suit them, but of course, his statements negatively affected him.
