حسمت الفنانة المصرية القديرة مديحة حمدي الجدل المثار حول اعتزالها الفن، مؤكدة أنها لم تفكر يوما في الابتعاد نهائيا عن الساحة الفنية والثقافية، مشيرة إلى أن غيابها أخيرا كان فقط لقضاء وقت مع أبنائها وأحفادها في أجواء عائلية.
وأوضحت في تصريحات تلفزيونية أنها اعتادت استغلال الإجازة الصيفية للبقاء مع أسرتها في الساحل الشمالي، حيث تجد الراحة والخصوصية بعيدا عن أجواء العمل في القاهرة.
وكشفت مديحة حمدي عن استعدادها للعودة قريبا من خلال صالونها الثقافي الشهري، معلنة تنظيم احتفالية خاصة بمناسبة المولد النبوي الشريف، تجمع فيها رموز الفن والفكر والثقافة.
ويُعد صالون الفنانة واحدا من أبرز الفعاليات الثقافية التي ساهمت لسنوات في مناقشة قضايا المجتمع والفن، بالتعاون مع وزارتي الثقافة والشباب والرياضة، ما رسّخ مكانتها كأيقونة فنية وثقافية منذ بداياتها في الستينات وحتى اليوم.
The esteemed Egyptian artist Madihah Hamdi has resolved the controversy surrounding her retirement from the arts, confirming that she has never considered permanently stepping away from the artistic and cultural scene. She noted that her recent absence was merely to spend time with her children and grandchildren in a family atmosphere.
In television statements, she explained that she has become accustomed to using the summer vacation to stay with her family in the North Coast, where she finds comfort and privacy away from the work environment in Cairo.
Madihah Hamdi revealed her readiness to return soon through her monthly cultural salon, announcing the organization of a special celebration on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday, which will bring together icons of art, thought, and culture.
The artist's salon is considered one of the most prominent cultural events that has contributed for years to discussing societal and artistic issues, in collaboration with the Ministries of Culture and Youth and Sports, solidifying her status as an artistic and cultural icon since her beginnings in the 1960s to the present day.
