The relationship between Saudi artist Khalid Abdul Rahman and the audience in Jordan is considered one of the notable phenomena in the Arab music scene; a relationship that began late but has firmly established itself, becoming one of the exceptional fan stories in the artist's career.
During his first participation in the Jerash Festival in 2023, Khalid Abdul Rahman was shocked by the level of audience interaction, stating in a media interview: "I didn't expect there to be such a large audience and interaction on a Sunday; this is something big that I will never forget." The scene at that moment was surprising to him: an audience that knows his songs by heart, singing along with him "Bla Mi'ad," "Taqwa Al-Hijr," and "Weshlon Maghlyak" as if it were a shared national anthem.
In his latest concert at the Jerash Festival in 2025, the story repeated itself with even greater intensity: thousands filled the Southern Theater, Saudi flags waving among the crowd, amidst the lights of phones, applause, and repeated requests for his songs. Khalid delivered a distinctive musical performance accompanied by a band led by maestro Amir Abdul Majid, and expressed his gratitude to the audience by saying: "This concert is from the heart to Jordan."
As for the Jordanian audience, they reciprocated the artist's love, chanting his name for a long time, and expressing their loyalty to the artist "Mukhawi Al-Layl," whose return had been long awaited. It seemed as if the relationship between the two parties had transcended art to something deeper: a rare emotional bond.
Although Khalid Abdul Rahman enjoys overwhelming popularity at the Arab level, some changes in the artistic scene suggested a decline in his audience momentum compared to the new generation of artists. However, the numbers and audience evidence proved the opposite; his concerts continue to attract a wide turnout and exceptional interaction, as evidenced by scenes like the recent Jerash concert, which highlighted the loyalty of an old audience and the renewed allegiance of a new one.
