مُنعت الفنانة البريطانية إيما واتسون من قيادة السيارة لمدة ستة أشهر، بعد ارتكابها رابع مخالفة مرورية في أقل من عامين.
وأُدينت نجمة هاري بوتر، البالغة من العمر 35 عامًا، في محكمة ويكومب الجزئية بعد أن ضُبطت وهي تقود بسرعة 38 ميلًا في الساعة في منطقة محددة بـ30 ميلًا في الساعة، وذلك في مدينة أكسفورد، حيث تتابع دراستها لنيل الدكتوراه في جامعة أكسفورد.
ورصدت كاميرا مراقبة السرعة المخالفة أثناء قيادة واتسون سيارتها من طراز «أودي S3» التي تبلغ قيمتها نحو 30 ألف جنيه إسترليني، وأضيفت ثلاث نقاط مرورية إلى سجلها، ما رفع المجموع إلى 12 نقطة، وهو ما استدعى تلقائيًا فرض حظر قيادة.
وبالإضافة إلى الحظر، تم تغريمها 1,044 جنيهًا إسترلينيًا، تشمل 660 جنيهًا لاعترافها بالذنب، و264 جنيهًا رسومًا إضافية، و120 جنيهًا مصاريف محكمة، ويجب عليها سداد المبلغ خلال 28 يومًا.
وليست هذه الحادثة الأولى لإيما واتسون مع مشكلات القيادة، ففي فبراير 2024، تم حجز سيارتها من قبل الشرطة بعد أن أوقفتها بشكل غير قانوني في ستراتفورد-أبون-آفون، ما أعاق مدخل موقف سيارات، ومنع مدير مطعم بيتزا من المغادرة لأكثر من 3 ساعات.
وعندما حضرت الشرطة لسحب السيارة، حاولت واتسون منعهم دون جدوى، وتلقت حينها غرامة قدرها 192 جنيهًا.
واشتهرت واتسون بدور «هيرميون غرينجر» في سلسلة هاري بوتر بين 2001 و2011، قبل أن تبتعد تدريجيًا عن التمثيل وتركز على حياتها الشخصية والأكاديمية.
The British actress Emma Watson has been banned from driving for six months after committing her fourth traffic offense in less than two years.
The 35-year-old Harry Potter star was convicted at Wycombe Magistrates' Court after being caught driving at 38 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone in Oxford, where she is pursuing her PhD at the University of Oxford.
A speed camera recorded the offense while Watson was driving her Audi S3, valued at around £30,000, and three penalty points were added to her record, bringing the total to 12 points, which automatically triggered a driving ban.
In addition to the ban, she was fined £1,044, which includes £660 for her guilty plea, £264 in additional fees, and £120 in court costs, and she must pay the amount within 28 days.
This is not Watson's first incident with driving issues; in February 2024, her car was seized by the police after she parked it illegally in Stratford-upon-Avon, blocking the entrance to a parking lot and preventing a pizza restaurant manager from leaving for over three hours.
When the police arrived to tow the car, Watson attempted to stop them without success and received a fine of £192 at that time.
Watson is best known for her role as "Hermione Granger" in the Harry Potter series from 2001 to 2011, before gradually stepping away from acting to focus on her personal and academic life.
