أكدت الفنانة السعودية رنا جبران، التي قدمت شخصية «سهام» بمسلسل «أمي»، تلقيها نص العمل قبل عام ونصف، ثم توقّف الأمر، ليعود لاحقاً ويُعرض عليها مجدداً، وهو ما اعتبرته «رسالة كونية» دفعتها لقبول الدور، خصوصاً لما يحمله من توعية اجتماعية عميقة.
وقالت في تصريحات إعلامية «أنا أعشق الأدوار الهادفة، التي تقدم رسالة للمجتمع، وهذا هو جوهر الفن الحقيقي».
وأوضحت الرسائل التي أرادت إيصالها بدور «سهام»، ومنها عدم الحكم على الأشخاص من الظاهر، وضرورة تلقي العلاج النفسي، بجانب أهمية أن تكون المرأة مستقلة تملك مستقبلاً قبل الزواج، فضلاً عن خطورة التعلق العاطفي غير الواعي، وأضرار التعاطي ونتائجه الكارثية، وحدود الصبر والتحمّل.
وتصف رنا مشاركتها في مسلسل «أمي» بالنقلة النوعية في مسيرتها الفنية، مؤكدة أن أصداء العمل فاقت التوقعات، وساهمت في توسيع قاعدتها الجماهيرية لتشمل مختلف الفئات العمرية من المملكة ودول الخليج والعالم العربي.
Saudi artist Rana Jubran, who portrayed the character "Siham" in the series "My Mother," confirmed that she received the script a year and a half ago, but then the matter was put on hold, only to be presented to her again later, which she considered a "cosmic message" that motivated her to accept the role, especially due to its deep social awareness.
She stated in media interviews, "I love meaningful roles that convey a message to society, and this is the essence of true art."
She clarified the messages she wanted to convey through the role of "Siham," including the importance of not judging people by appearances, the necessity of receiving psychological treatment, the importance of women being independent and having a future before marriage, as well as the dangers of unconscious emotional attachment, the harms of substance abuse and its catastrophic consequences, and the limits of patience and endurance.
Rana describes her participation in the series "My Mother" as a qualitative leap in her artistic career, confirming that the echoes of the work exceeded expectations and contributed to expanding her fan base to include various age groups from the Kingdom, the Gulf countries, and the Arab world.
