في خطوة لافتة ضمن جهود عائلة الموسيقار المصري الراحل محمد عبد الوهاب لإعادة إحياء إرثه الفني والإنساني، أعلن حفيداه عمر خليل وهاشم الصيفي بدء العمل على مسلسل جديد يروي سيرة موسيقار الأجيال ويوثق مسيرته المؤثرة في الموسيقى العربية.
وأكد حفيدا موسيقار الأجيال أنّ المشروع لا يزال في بداياته، وأن العمل الدرامي يسعى إلى تقديم حكاية عبد الوهاب على المستويين الشخصي والفني، مشيرين إلى أن التحدي الأبرز أمام فريق العمل يكمن في تقديم حياة عبد الوهاب بأسلوب درامي مُعاصر دون المساس بروحه الأصلية.
ويعمل القائمون على المشروع حالياً على إيجاد صيغة درامية قادرة على جذب الأجيال الجديدة إلى عالم موسيقار الأجيال، مع الحفاظ على القيم الموسيقية التي أسسها.
وضمن الجهود ذاتها، تواصل عائلة عبد الوهاب مشاريع ترميم الأفلام التي أسهم فيها الموسيقار الكبير، فخلال ثلاثينات وأربعينات القرن الماضي شارك عبد الوهاب في بطولة 7 أفلام اعتُبرت بوابة الجمهور المصري إلى عالم الأفلام الموسيقية.
وقد تم بالفعل الانتهاء من ترميم فيلم «ممنوع الحب»، بينما تُستكمل حالياً عمليات ترميم 5 أفلام أخرى بهدف إعادة عرضها للجمهور بصيغة تليق بجودة الأعمال التي قدّمها.
أما فيلمه الأخير «لست ملاكاً» فتعرض لأضرار جسيمة بسبب حريق قديم، ما يجعل استعادته أمراً بالغ الصعوبة تقنياً، فيبقى شاهداً ناقصاً على مشواره السينمائي الثري.
وبعيداً عن الدراما والشاشة، تتحضّر عائلة عبد الوهاب لتنظيم حفل موسيقي كبير في لندن على خشبة «مسرح دروري لين الملكي» يوم 23 نوفمبر القادم، إحياءً لذكرى موسيقار الأجيال.
وسيشهد الحفل مشاركة السوبرانو العالمية فاطمة سعيد، بمرافقة الأوركسترا الفيلهارمونية الملكية بقيادة المايسترو نادر عباسي، ليقدّموا مختارات من أشهر أعمال عبد الوهاب، إضافة إلى روائع لحنها لكبار الأصوات مثل أم كلثوم وعبد الحليم حافظ.
In a notable step within the efforts of the family of the late Egyptian musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab to revive his artistic and humanitarian legacy, his grandsons Omar Khalil and Hashim Al-Sayfi announced the start of work on a new series that tells the story of the musician of generations and documents his influential journey in Arabic music.
The grandsons of the musician of generations confirmed that the project is still in its early stages, and that the dramatic work aims to present Abdel Wahab's story on both personal and artistic levels, noting that the biggest challenge facing the team is to portray Abdel Wahab's life in a contemporary dramatic style without compromising its original spirit.
The project team is currently working on finding a dramatic format capable of attracting new generations to the world of the musician of generations, while preserving the musical values he established.
As part of the same efforts, the Abdel Wahab family continues projects to restore the films in which the great musician contributed. During the 1930s and 1940s, Abdel Wahab starred in 7 films that were considered the gateway for the Egyptian audience to the world of musical films.
The restoration of the film "Forbidden Love" has already been completed, while the restoration processes for 5 other films are currently ongoing with the aim of re-presenting them to the audience in a format that befits the quality of the works he presented.
As for his last film "I Am Not an Angel," it suffered severe damage due to an old fire, making its restoration technically very difficult, leaving it as an incomplete witness to his rich cinematic journey.
Away from drama and the screen, the Abdel Wahab family is preparing to organize a grand musical concert in London at the "Royal Drury Lane Theatre" on November 23rd, in commemoration of the musician of generations.
The concert will feature the participation of the international soprano Fatma Said, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Nader Abbasi, who will present selections from Abdel Wahab's most famous works, in addition to masterpieces he composed for prominent voices such as Umm Kulthum and Abdel Halim Hafez.
