شهدت منطقة السيدة زينب بمدينة القاهرة، في الساعات الأولى صباح اليوم (الأربعاء)، حادثاً مأساوياً عقب انهيار عقار سكني مكون من 7 طوابق، وهو عقار قضي فيه الفنان الراحل نور الشريف سنوات طفولته.
وتلقت الأجهزة الأمنية بمديرية أمن القاهرة بلاغاً من الأهالي يفيد بحدوث انهيار كامل لعقار مأهول بالسكان في شارع محمد عنايت بمنطقة السيدة زينب.
وعلى الفور انتقلت الأجهزة الأمنية وسيارات الدفاع المدني والإسعاف إلى مكان الحادث لإزالة الحطام والركام الناتج، وتم فرض طوق أمني حول مكان الواقعة، ونقل المصابين إلى المستشفى وانتشال جثامين الضحايا.
وكشفت المعاينة الأولية عن وجود ضحايا تحت الأنقاض، ونجحت قوات الحماية المدنية في استخراج 7 بينهم وفيات من أسفل العقار، وتم نقل المصابين إلى المستشفى لتلقي العلاج، وانتشال جثامين المتوفين ونقلهم إلى ثلاجة المستشفى، وتواصل فرق الإنقاذ عمليات البحث لانتشال بقية المفقودين تحت الأنقاض.
وتبيّن أن العقار شهد طفولة الفنان الراحل نور الشريف، الذي فقد والده في سن مبكرة ونشأ تحت رعاية أعمامه في هذا المنزل العريق، وفي عام 2021 طالب المخرج محسن أحمد بإطلاق اسم «نور الشريف» على المبنى تكريماً وتوثيقاً لمسيرته وتراثه الفني.
ومن جانب آخر، انتقل محافظ القاهرة الدكتور إبراهيم صابر إلى الموقع لتفقد عمليات إنقاذ المصابين واستخراج المتوفين، وإزالة الحطام والركام الناتج عن الانهيار.
The Sayyida Zainab area in Cairo witnessed a tragic incident in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) following the collapse of a residential building consisting of 7 floors, which was where the late artist Nour El Sherif spent his childhood years.
The security authorities at the Cairo Security Directorate received a report from residents indicating a complete collapse of an inhabited building on Mohamed Anayat Street in the Sayyida Zainab area.
Immediately, security forces, civil defense vehicles, and ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the incident to remove the debris and rubble, and a security cordon was established around the site. The injured were transported to the hospital, and the bodies of the victims were retrieved.
Initial examinations revealed that there were victims trapped under the rubble, and the civil protection forces succeeded in extracting 7 individuals, including fatalities, from beneath the building. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the hospital morgue, while rescue teams continued their search operations to recover the remaining missing persons under the debris.
It was noted that the building was where the late artist Nour El Sherif spent his childhood, having lost his father at an early age and grown up under the care of his uncles in this historic home. In 2021, director Mohsen Ahmed called for the building to be named "Nour El Sherif" in honor of and to document his artistic journey and heritage.
On another note, Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber visited the site to oversee the rescue operations for the injured and the retrieval of the deceased, as well as the removal of the debris and rubble resulting from the collapse.
