Travelers on the international road linking Samta Governorate and Al-Juradiyah neighborhood in Jazan region have complained about the spread of cracks, fissures, and large potholes in the asphalt layer, especially at the entrance and exit of Al-Juradiyah neighborhood. They confirmed that the deterioration of the road has caused damage to vehicles, and the danger increases with rainfall, which turns the potholes into water traps threatening passing vehicles.
Vehicle owners and road users have demanded, through "Okaz," that the relevant authorities quickly assess the condition of the road, investigate the reasons for the deterioration of the asphalt, and rehabilitate it by addressing the cracks and potholes that spread along its length, emphasizing that the road experiences heavy traffic and serves a large number of villages heading to Samta Governorate.
Abdullah Samili explained that the international road that crosses the middle of Al-Juradiyah neighborhood is one of the vital and main roads in the region, as it is crossed daily by thousands of vehicles. He pointed out that its asphalt layer has become weak and dilapidated and needs to be repaved and comprehensively treated for the potholes and cracks.
Samili urged the relevant authorities to intervene quickly and rehabilitate the road in a manner commensurate with its importance and the volume of traffic on it, especially since it serves residents of several villages.
For his part, Abdulrahman Sahli expressed his astonishment at the condition the road has reached, especially at the entrance to Al-Juradiyah neighborhood, explaining that the asphalt layer has turned into potholes and cracks that hinder vehicle movement, making the driver feel as if they are driving on a rough road rather than an international road.
Sahli called on the relevant authority, whether the Roads Administration in Jazan region or the concerned municipality, to quickly repave the road with high quality and use an asphalt layer that can withstand the daily traffic volume, ensuring the safety of its users and preserving the vehicles.
