أبدى عدد من أهالي الحوية شمال الطائف، في حديثهم لـ«عكاظ»، تذمرهم من الانتشار المتزايد لطيور الحمَام داخل الأحياء السكنية، بعد أن باتت تتجمع بأعداد كبيرة على أسطح المباني والنوافذ، مسببة إزعاجاً للسكان، وتلوثاً للمنازل، وتشويهاً للمظهر العام.
وقال فهد العتيبي: إن الحمَام أصبح مصدر إزعاج متكرر، إذ تتخذ الطيور من نوافذ المنازل مأوى لها، ما يؤدي إلى تراكم مخلفاتها على الزجاج، فضلاً عن دخول الحشرات إلى بعض الغرف. وأوضح محمد الحارثي، أن انتشار الحمَام أسهم في تشويه المظهر العام للأحياء، مشيراً إلى أن بعض السكان اضطُروا إلى تركيب شِباك معدنية على النوافذ للحد من دخول الطيور، إلا أن هذه الحلول تظل مؤقتة ولا تعالج المشكلة من جذورها.
وأشار سعود السفياني إلى أن مخلّفات الطيور تتسبب في انبعاث روائح غير مرغوبة، وتجمع الحشرات، مطالباً الجهات المختصة بالتدخل لمعالجة الظاهرة من خلال إزالة الأعشاش، وتنظيف الأسطح، وتكثيف أعمال المكافحة، حفاظاً على النظافة العامة وسلامة البيئة السكنية.
A number of residents in Al-Hawiya, north of Taif, expressed their dissatisfaction in an interview with "Okaz" regarding the increasing presence of pigeons within residential neighborhoods. The birds have started to gather in large numbers on building rooftops and windows, causing disturbances for residents, polluting homes, and detracting from the overall appearance.
Fahd Al-Otaibi stated that pigeons have become a recurring source of annoyance, as they take refuge in the windows of homes, leading to the accumulation of their droppings on the glass, in addition to insects entering some rooms. Mohammed Al-Harithi explained that the spread of pigeons has contributed to the deterioration of the overall appearance of the neighborhoods, noting that some residents have been forced to install metal nets on their windows to limit the entry of birds; however, these solutions remain temporary and do not address the problem at its roots.
Saud Al-Sufyani pointed out that bird droppings cause unpleasant odors and attract insects, calling on the relevant authorities to intervene to address the phenomenon by removing nests, cleaning rooftops, and intensifying pest control efforts, in order to maintain public cleanliness and the safety of the residential environment.
