"The media" is a message that has its ethics and regulations, and it is not a cultivation of chaos, mixing facts, and spreading rumors with the aim of trending. The authentic journalist is one who possesses credibility, adheres to professionalism, and places the public interest above any other consideration.
It is time, my dear ones, to distinguish between a journalist with a message and another who claims to be a journalist in search of fame, harming the profession and its practitioners and followers. We should not allow anyone who carries a mobile phone to don the media cloak, forcing society to pay the price of their recklessness.
In this brief note, I will limit myself to posing four quick questions that may serve as a starting point for a research study aimed at combating those who falsely claim to be journalists on social media platforms, from which the media is innocent:
• How can we silence those seeking the spotlight?
• How long will we allow them to publish whatever they want without awareness of media policy or societal balance?
• Why have our papers become mixed, so that we can no longer distinguish between those who have dedicated years to studying media and those who have appointed themselves as journalists without justification?
• What is our role as individuals and institutions in highlighting true media competencies to eliminate the manipulation of those misleading infiltrators into the media through the windows?
