With the announcement by the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council of the launch of the "Dawn of Yemen" operation on October 5, 2026, aimed at restoring state institutions and liberating the capital, Sana'a, hope is renewed that Yemen will find its way to security and stability, and that the suffering of a people exhausted by years of conflict and division will come to an end.
The people of Yemen aspire to reclaim their homeland from the grip of the Houthi cave gang, and to end a reality where the will of arms is imposed on the will of society. It is the right of Yemenis to live in a homeland that protects them, preserves their freedoms, and grants their children the opportunity to learn, work, and build the future. Yemen, with its history, civilization, and diversity, deserves institutions that serve its citizens, and a law that treats everyone equally.
In the name of "Dawn of Yemen," there is a promise that should transform into a reality felt by people in their daily lives, in a child returning to school safely, a patient finding treatment, an employee receiving their salary, a family able to secure their livelihood, and a displaced person returning to their home. This is the goal that gives meaning to the restoration of the state and makes sacrifices a path to a better life.
The determination to reclaim every inch of the country requires a united front that places the interest of Yemen above partisan, regional, and personal calculations. What is needed today is an agreement on a clear goal: a sovereign state, effective institutions, equal citizenship, and a future that all Yemenis participate in shaping.
The restoration of the land cannot be complete without restoring the trust of the people in the state. Therefore, any progress must be accompanied by measures that protect civilians, secure services, prevent abuses, and open the door to aid. Citizens need to see state institutions as a support for them, to find a door for justice when wronged, and to have the opportunity for a dignified life when their paths narrow.
Moreover, ending the authority of the Houthi gang and its operators should pave the way for justice that holds accountable those responsible for violations based on evidence and law. Building peace requires courage in confronting injustice, wisdom in mending society, and guarantees that prevent the return of tyranny under any name.
The wait for Yemenis for a dawn that brings reassurance to their homes has been long. The hope pinned on the "Dawn of Yemen" is great, but it places a heavier responsibility on the leadership and national forces... to unite their ranks, preserve the dignity of their people, and transform the goal of reclaiming the homeland into a project for its reconstruction. Then, dawn becomes the beginning of an era in which Yemenis can live in safety, work with dignity, and look to tomorrow with confidence.
