The skill of leadership is measured by its ability to protect the interests of its nation in a world where powers compete and alliances shift. Amidst this scene, the strength of Saudi leadership is evident in the clarity of its vision, the steadfastness of its priorities, and its ability to manage its international relations based on a solid foundation. The sovereignty of the Kingdom and the independence of its decisions are above all considerations.
The leadership has not made the nation a hostage to a single alliance, nor has it allowed disagreements with major powers to turn into constraints on its options. Partnership, no matter how important, does not grant any party the right to guardianship, and differences, no matter how vast, do not necessitate closing the doors to dialogue or compromising shared interests.
From here, Riyadh's options have expanded, and its ability to diversify its relationships has become a source of strength and flexibility. Cooperation with one party does not require severing ties with another, and openness to an international power does not mean adopting its positions on every issue. The criterion is what the relationship achieves in terms of benefit for the Kingdom, and the mutual respect and clear commitment to its sovereignty that it is based upon.
This policy has been crafted by leadership that knows when to hold firm to its position, when to open a path for understanding, and how to maintain communication channels from a position of trust. Political strength does not manifest in the sharpness of rhetoric, but in the ability to reach results that protect interests and expand opportunities for work and influence.
With skill, pressures turn into negotiation tools, creating stable positions. It does not focus on immediate diplomatic gains. This requires a precise reading of the interests of others, and an understanding of what Riyadh possesses in terms of leadership, political weight, economic strength, and strategic location, as well as the wise utilization of that with a long-term vision.
Moreover, the independence of decision-making is linked to diversifying the economy, developing national capabilities, and empowering the Saudi citizen, which grants foreign policy a broader space for maneuvering. When diplomacy is based on a nation that builds its capabilities and trusts its future, it becomes more capable of negotiating and protecting its gains.
That is why we take pride in the approach that makes national interests the foundation of any partnership, preserving the nation's right to agree and disagree according to the leadership's assessment and the priorities of the people.
These gains combine flexibility in relations, dialogue based on interests, cooperation among sovereign states, partnerships with everyone, and no dependency, so that the sovereign decision remains, in the end, purely Saudi.
