As the rapid developments in artificial intelligence continue to unfold, its expanding influence and increasing concerns about it make it very logical to raise a question of utmost necessity and importance: How will the future of learning and education look in light of the powerful emergence of artificial intelligence?
The simplified answer is that artificial intelligence will not replace the teacher, but it will completely change the shape of education. Education will become personalized, not collective.
Instead of a one-size-fits-all curriculum, each student will have a tailored path that meets their needs. Artificial intelligence reveals exactly where you stumble—whether the issue is in understanding the concept or in the method of solving it—and explains it in a way that suits your comprehension. This is the biggest difference. This will be followed by a significant change in the role of the teacher, who will shift from being a lecturer to a guide. All the tedious tasks such as grading assignments, preparation, and reports will be handled by artificial intelligence. Thus, the teacher will retain the most important part, which is motivation, discussion, character building, and teaching critical thinking. A good teacher will become more valuable, not cheaper or less significant. This is a matter of utmost necessity and importance.
Consequently, there will be new skills that will become more important than memorization.
Why memorize information that you can ask artificial intelligence about? Schools will focus more on how to ask the right question and how to ensure that the answer from artificial intelligence is correct.
And fostering creativity, teamwork, emotional intelligence, innovation, diversity, and thinking outside the box. The real danger is not that students will cheat using artificial intelligence. The danger is that an outdated educational system continues to evaluate memorization while the whole world has changed.
Perhaps the most important question that deserves to be considered thoroughly and extensively is how serious communities are and how prepared they are to accept the idea of change and to deal with it as a reality and a natural evolution, rather than retreating into denial about what is happening.
