Some followers judge us based on headlines designed to provoke interest, and then they seek the truth from the details, meaning that there are those who do not want to read but still condemn you based on a title that does not resemble its details.
I was angry about Al-Ittihad's loss to Al-Ahli UAE and tweeted (Why like this?), and the goal was clear, but some, not all, went to intentions that only God knows. Nevertheless, the majority were with me considering what I said before the match.
Indeed, and I do not say this as a justification or clarification but as a confirmation... I was angry about Al-Ittihad's loss for specific reasons related to me, and I was happy for Al-Hilal's victory and said in the exhilaration of the victor, there is no leader but Al-Hilal.
We must differentiate between our internal competitions and external representation, which requires us to be united as one.
We are seen as the best in Asia and beyond, and we must prove this distinction through these participations.
Al-Ahli won, Al-Nasr gained, and Al-Hilal triumphed, so why shouldn’t I be angry, O Al-Ittihad fans, because of your loss in a stadium where Al-Ahli has tamed the elite twice?
For example, the passionate Al-Ahli fan Mohsen Al-Sharif, who engages daily with his Al-Ittihad friends in discussions and on X, announced his support for Al-Ittihad by attending the match with a group of Al-Ahli fans. This is an indicator that my anger, like Mohsen's anger after the loss to Al-Ahli, does not need interpretations.
We, as Saudis, appreciate the beautiful role of foreign players in our league and country, and this is not surprising.
Demiral, the Turkish Al-Ahli player, was the first to show solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both leadership and people, and he recorded love, respect, and appreciation from the Saudi street.
In the match between Al-Wasl and Al-Ahli, many of our people in the UAE were seen in the Al-Ahli stands supporting Al-Ahli, which is normal. However, what is unusual is when an Emirati colleague conducted an interview with three Emiratis wearing the Al-Ahli emblem, thinking they were Saudis, and when they said they were from Sharjah, he jokingly asked, "Afa, you cheer against your country's team?" They replied, "We loved the sport through Saudi Al-Ahli."
Football is beautiful, even if some strive to take it off its course.
Finally: Sadness is caused by intelligence; the more you understand certain things, the more you wish you hadn’t understood them.
