لم تكن اللغة العربية يوماً مجرد وسيلة للتواصل، بل هي حاضنة للهوية وحافظة للثقافة وذاكرة للحضارة، واليوم، تقف المملكة العربية السعودية بين دول العالم مرجعاً في خدمة اللغة العربية، وتقوم بدور ريادي في صون هذه اللغة وتعزيز حضورها عالمياً، من خلال مَجمع الملك سلمان العالمي للغة العربية، الذي يؤدي دوراً مهماً في نشر اللغة العربية وتطويرها وتوسيع دائرة استخدامها في الحياة اليومية والعلمية.
بل إن المَجمع يُعدّ اليوم أحد أهم برامج تنمية القدرات البشرية من خلال أثر العناية باللغة واستخداماتها في البحث والممارسة المهنية. ولعلي أشير هنا إلى مشاريع ومبادرات حيوية قدّمها المجمع لتحقيق أهدافه، منها «مركز أبجد لتعليم اللغة العربية»، الذي صُمم ببرنامج عالمي متكامل في أربعة مستويات، يضم كل مستوى منها (160) ساعة موجهة للناطقين بغير العربية. وهناك أيضاً «معرض اللغة العربية للطفل»، الذي يمنح الصغار تجربة لغوية ومعرفية وثقافية تعزز مهاراتهم اللغوية وترسّخ ارتباطهم بهويتهم الوطنية. أما «معرض اللغة العربية 28»، فيقدم تجارب مبتكرة تعكس جمال العربية وثراءها بين لغات العالم.
ولا يمكن إغفال «معجم الرياض»، الذي يمثل مرجعاً حديثاً بمادة لغوية فصيحة، صُمم وفق أحدث مبادئ الصناعة المعجمية ليُعرض بشكل سهل ومباشر. كما يقدّم مشروع «الانغماس اللغوي»، برامج قصيرة المدى لتعليم العربية للناطقين بغيرها لأغراض خاصة مثل السياحة والثقافة، بما يساعد الزائر على الاندماج في المجتمع السعودي والتعرّف إلى تنوعه الثقافي وإرثه التاريخي.
ولا بد أن أشير كذلك إلى اختبار «همزة الأكاديمي»، الذي صُمم وفق الإطار الأوروبي المشترك للغات، ليكون أداة أكاديمية دقيقة ومعتمدة لتقييم مستوى إتقان العربية لدى الناطقين بغيرها، وتزويد الجامعات والمعاهد بمدخلات موثوقة لتحديد مستويات طلابها.

There is also the "Arabic Language Exhibition for Children," which provides young ones with a linguistic, cognitive, and cultural experience that enhances their language skills and solidifies their connection to their national identity. As for the "Arabic Language Exhibition 28," it offers innovative experiences that reflect the beauty and richness of Arabic among the world's languages.
We cannot overlook the "Riyadh Dictionary," which represents a modern reference with eloquent linguistic material, designed according to the latest principles of lexicography to be presented in an easy and direct manner. The "Linguistic Immersion" project also offers short-term programs for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers for specific purposes such as tourism and culture, helping visitors integrate into Saudi society and learn about its cultural diversity and historical heritage.
I must also mention the "Academic Hamza" test, which is designed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, to be an accurate and accredited academic tool for assessing the level of proficiency in Arabic among non-native speakers, providing universities and institutes with reliable inputs to determine their students' levels.
