Whenever the Arab region faces military clashes and political tensions, the name of the elder sister, Saudi Arabia, emerges at the forefront of political and diplomatic efforts, both regionally and internationally. It is the country that embraces pragmatism in its policies and positions and excels in bridging viewpoints, especially regarding the developments and military complexities of the Palestinian issue.
The Saudi bells of peace are not a recent phenomenon; they have deep roots and a solid political history, prominently manifested in the "Mukhri Akhak La Batal" initiative in 2002, which was adopted by the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz regarding the establishment of peace in the Middle East.
Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz stated when he was Crown Prince: "I looked to the right and to the left, and I found no solution; the doors were closed while the Israeli aggression continued with tanks, and the Palestinian people faced it with stones. Under these circumstances, I conveyed my initiative to test the seriousness as well."
"I thought of this initiative to serve Islam, as it is a religion of peace, love, brotherhood, and morals, and to also prove that Muslims and Arabs are advocates of peace, not advocates of war, contrary to what some previously imagined that Muslims and Arabs do not want peace."
"Muslims and Arabs are advocates of peace, and some Israelis do not desire peace. If the Israelis accept it, we will live in peace and security, and there will be no fighting between us."
The Saudi bells of peace have reached even the most deaf ears on the international and regional stages, yet they soon face rebellion from the "Muslim Brotherhood" organization, particularly the Brotherhood group in Kuwait.
When France recently announced its intention to recognize the State of Palestine, we find that the arts of denial among the political Islam group in Kuwait did not motivate them to acknowledge political mistakes or even apologize to Riyadh after the venom they spread against Saudi Arabia since the "Al-Aqsa" operation!
The Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait, in the world, and the "Hamas" movement, as the Palestinian wing of the Brotherhood, have become accustomed to stubbornness and refusal to acknowledge mistakes while focusing on directing arrows towards Saudi Arabia, in conspicuous silence regarding the French initiative and those behind it.
Of course, Saudi Arabia does not expect thanks or gratitude from the "Muslim Brotherhood," as it offers peace initiatives from a standpoint of political and humanitarian responsibility, not from a place of benevolence or favor towards the Palestinians, other factions, or specifically the "Hamas" movement.
The humanitarian catastrophe that the Gaza Strip and its inhabitants are experiencing has not prompted "Hamas" to reconsider its positions or accept Saudi solutions and initiatives, or Qatari mediation, but rather it has continued its political and military obstinacy, without any "Hamas-like" flexibility for the Palestinian people, not for other peoples.
The global conscience was recently expressed by France, and other Western countries may join it, but; is the "Hamas" conscience capable of achieving justice and dignity for the Palestinian people, and protecting and preserving Palestinian human rights?
In light of these positive developments in international positions towards recognizing the State of Palestine; can we look forward to a Palestinian peace initiative or at least a Palestinian mandate for Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to achieve a just peace in the Middle East, instead of wars of savagery, starvation, and destruction?
