"Peace is prosperity, and war is destruction." This is the correct definition (of war and peace) according to the results, not based on grandiose labels like "the rising lion and the sincere promise." The two World Wars did not chronicle names for the battles and devastating strikes between the nations that were crushed by bombs and buried under their rubble; rather, they documented the destruction of nations by the number of their dead, the collapse of their civilizations, and the delay of their renaissance!
The war has laid down its arms between Israel and Iran, and a preliminary agreement has been reached to cease fire between the two parties. The region has regained its calm, and the red screens of television have retreated from their urgent news, while the alerts from our devices about the terrifying news that warned of a long and dangerous war have quieted down. The calm is beginning to appear on the horizon of the region, although it is a calm tinged with caution and does not herald a decisive peace!
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken the initiative in regional peace efforts even before the outbreak of the Israeli-Iranian conflict, in sincere attempts to contain the crisis and spare the region from serious and troubling repercussions at the regional level, believing in the role that the Kingdom plays in spreading peace and proposing initiatives for de-escalation and wise mediation between the parties to the conflict, whether regional or global.
Wars are not limited-impact conflicts, especially when they extend beyond expectations into regional wars without security, human, and environmental guarantees, the effects of which escalate to form numerous geopolitical and economic threats that contradict the frameworks of global security and the stability of peoples, and become a hindrance to development and prosperity for years, if not decades. In an interconnected world, the consequences and effects of these wars do not remain confined to a narrow geographical scope that includes the parties to the conflict geographically; rather, they may spread like waves affecting everyone, from material and military losses to human losses, the disintegration of social fabric, and the disruption of development paths, leading to a serious regression across all levels. Regional wars leave behind deep wounds that are difficult to heal, and their danger is not measured solely by the direct losses in human, military, and economic terms, but also by their effects that extend across generations and the psychological and moral burdens that humanity will face in the future. To avoid these disasters, diplomatic efforts and solutions have emerged as a preliminary step, blessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has worked diligently to make them the primary agenda and the foundational pillar for a phase of peace and calm to create a peaceful present and a prosperous future filled with achievements and progress for the entire region. Peace is not a luxury; it is a necessity for the survival and advancement of humanity.
