The visit of President Donald Trump to the region has concluded with its three stops: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. Trump described the visit as historic before it began, and it truly was, especially during its first stop in Riyadh, which lasted two days and witnessed significant momentum in the number and type of agreements signed in various fields, in addition to the general strategic partnership agreement signed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and President Trump.
America had to return to the Arab region in the way it did after the cooling of relations and what resembled a absence during the presidency of Joe Biden. Many issues became complicated, and numerous crises worsened during that period due to the philosophy of the Democratic administration in dealing with them. On the level of bilateral relations, it turned its back on its strategic partners in an illogical and unjustified manner despite their immense importance to it and to the world.
Fortunately, Trump returned to the White House, a president who believes in the priority of mutual interests and the necessity of enhancing them to achieve maximum benefit for all parties. Improving the economy is his most prominent slogan; he has no masks behind which he hides suspicious agendas, making dealings with him comfortable and straightforward. He came to countries whose economic size and political influence he understands, and the potential benefits that can be achieved with them. Therefore, unlike other presidents, Trump brought with him a large team of company heads, financiers, and business and economic leaders who found tremendous opportunities with us. They will benefit from our need for their expertise, and we will benefit from transferring that expertise to our country, localizing it, and developing it to serve our ongoing massive development project.
In addition to all of this, President Trump's personal side greatly contributed to the success of his visit. He is a man of relationships par excellence, as he is fundamentally a businessman, and achieving business requires good personal relationships. His relationship with the leaders of the countries he visited, especially His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his great admiration for him personally and for his management style, created an important bridge of trust. This is an important aspect in enhancing relationships and ensuring the success of partnerships. Let us not forget— as an example— what President Trump said about lifting sanctions on Syria, which was not part of his agenda but he agreed to it at the request of Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
America remains the most powerful and influential country in the world; the world needs it, and it needs the world through mutually beneficial relationships that respect the sovereignty and values of each society.
