Under the guidance of the advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Emir of the region, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, today conducted a field visit to several sites in the holy sites to ensure their readiness to receive the guests of Allah during this year's Hajj, accompanied by a number of officials from relevant authorities.

He began the tour in the area of Arafat by visiting the Operations Control Center (OCC) affiliated with "Kadaan," where he reviewed the mechanism for monitoring the center's roles in the continuous supervision of water and electricity operations, detecting faults and reports as they occur, and sending immediate alerts to the teams. Additionally, he looked into the analysis of operational data and discussed ways to employ modern technologies to enhance operational efficiency and response speed, ensuring quality performance across various sites in the holy sites and guaranteeing continuous operational readiness around the clock.

He then visited the area of Mount Mercy and learned about the project to mitigate the effects of thermal stress implemented in the area, covering an area of 196,000 square meters, aimed at cooling the atmosphere around Mount Mercy and reducing the impact of direct sunlight by installing movable canopies for the first time in the holy sites, covering an area of 1,200 square meters, which includes 129 mist fans, to provide a more comfortable environment for pilgrims during their movements and rituals.

He continued his tour by reviewing the shuttle transport project, which aims to coordinate the shuttle movement based on achieving connectivity between attraction points in the area of Arafat without interference between the movement of pilgrims and the movement of buses. The project also focuses on determining design requirements for the elements related to shuttle transport and testing their operation through simulating transport and crowd movements to ensure safe operation.

In Muzdalifah, he continued his tour by visiting the project for the areas of pilgrim rest stops, extending over an area of 28,000 square meters in the paths of the holy sites to reduce temperatures and provide comfort for pilgrims by establishing prepared and shaded seating areas equipped with mist fans and commercial kiosks, with rubber flooring along the pedestrian paths between the holy sites; this contributes to facilitating the movement of pilgrims and ensuring their safety.

He also reviewed the charitable distribution centers project, which was implemented by "Kadaan" to organize and facilitate charitable distribution activities in the areas of Arafat and Muzdalifah, through the establishment of 70 units dedicated to charitable services that contribute to improving efficiency and facilitating distribution operations for service providers, enhancing the quality of what is offered to the guests of Allah during the Hajj season.

In Mina, the Deputy Emir of Makkah concluded his tour by visiting the load service center of the electricity company in Mina, where he listened to a brief overview of the projects carried out by the company for this year's Hajj, including the establishment of five new electrical transmission stations, the establishment of 228 new distribution stations, an increase in additional electrical capacities by 75%, and the implementation of 14 projects to enhance and replace distribution networks.
