تحولت لحظات هادئة داخل منزل بولاية كاليفورنيا الأمريكية إلى مشهد مقلق خلال ثوانٍ معدودة، بعدما اشتعل شاحن متنقل كان موضوعًا بجوار امرأة تجلس على أريكتها في غرفة المعيشة، لتفاجئها ألسنة اللهب دون أي إنذار واضح.
ووثّق مقطع فيديو التقطته كاميرات منزلية في مدينة فاكاڤيل لحظة اندلاع الحريق بشكل مفاجئ، قبل أن يسارع سكان المنزل إلى السيطرة عليه ومنع امتداده إلى بقية الغرف.
ولم تسفر الواقعة عن إصابات، فيما حضرت فرق الإطفاء إلى الموقع للتحقق من ملابسات الحادثة. وأعادت إدارة الإطفاء نشر المقطع للتحذير من مخاطر بطاريات الليثيوم أيون المستخدمة في الهواتف والشواحن المتنقلة وأجهزة إلكترونية أخرى، موضحة أن تلف البطارية أو تعرضها للشحن غير السليم قد يؤدي إلى ارتفاع حرارتها واشتعالها أو انفجارها في بعض الحالات.
ويؤكد مختصون أن ارتفاع حرارة الجهاز بشكل غير طبيعي، أو انتفاخ البطارية، أو صدور روائح وأصوات غير مألوفة، تعد مؤشرات تستوجب التوقف الفوري عن استخدام الجهاز وفصله بأمان، لتجنب تطور الأمر إلى حريق منزلي.
ورغم أن هذه الحوادث تظل محدودة مقارنة بالاستخدام الواسع للأجهزة المحمولة، فإنها تذكّر بأهمية استخدام منتجات موثوقة ومراقبة الأجهزة أثناء الشحن، خصوصًا في الأماكن القريبة من الأثاث والمواد القابلة للاشتعال.

A video captured by home cameras in Vacaville documented the moment the fire broke out suddenly, before the residents of the home rushed to control it and prevent it from spreading to the other rooms.
The incident did not result in any injuries, while fire crews arrived at the scene to investigate the circumstances of the incident. The fire department reposted the video to warn about the dangers of lithium-ion batteries used in phones, portable chargers, and other electronic devices, explaining that battery damage or improper charging can lead to overheating and ignition or even explosion in some cases.
Experts confirm that abnormal device overheating, battery swelling, or unusual smells and sounds are indicators that require immediate cessation of device use and safe disconnection to avoid the situation escalating into a house fire.
Although these incidents remain limited compared to the widespread use of portable devices, they serve as a reminder of the importance of using reliable products and monitoring devices while charging, especially in areas close to furniture and flammable materials.
