The promises of treatment from envy turned into a theft incident that ended with the arrest of two women in Giza, after they were accused of luring an elderly man and misleading him into believing they could treat him with incantations, before drugging him and stealing a sum of money from inside his home.
The public prosecution has begun its investigation and requested the swift completion of security investigations and the preservation of the seized items, as well as taking the necessary measures to uncover all the circumstances of the case.
The details of the incident date back to a report received by the security authorities from an elderly man who stated that two women had come to his residence in the Boulaq Dakrour area, convincing him that he was suffering from envy and that they were capable of treating him.
According to the investigations, the accused asked the victim to bring the sum of money available in the house to use it during a session of the alleged treatment, before the victim discovered after their departure that the money was missing and accused them of stealing it through deception.
The security authorities were able to identify the two suspects and arrest them, as it turned out that they reside within the Maghagha Center in Minya Governorate and have previous criminal records.
During the investigations, the suspects admitted to committing the incident and guided the authorities to a number of purchases made from the proceeds of the theft, which included a vehicle (tuk-tuk) and two bicycles, one of which was a regular bicycle and the other an electric one, before the necessary legal procedures were taken and they were referred to the relevant investigative authorities.
